Clear pockets of Juvederm visible in lips 2 weeks post injection?

Question

I'm wondering if this is normal with the specific type of product used- two weeks ago, I was injected with Juvederm ultra plus XC. When I look at my lips, I can clearly see where the filler was injected- there are a few clear sacks of juvederm visible in my lips. Why is this/what should I do?

This sounds like superficially placed filler. It can be reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps.

The filler is too superficial and it can be seen under the fleshy skin of the lip. It can be treated with a small incision and drainage of the excess so you can keep the rest of the Juvederm in other parts of the lips.Speak with your injector, but this is a known and not uncommon complication with most fillers.Good luck. It's hard to fully assess without photos but it sounds as though the filler was injected improperly. You shouldn't have residual bumps. Your best option is to see your injector to have the bumps dissolved with hyaluronidase.As with all cosmetic procedures, especially when it comes to fillers, the skill of the injector is paramount. Don't trust your face to just anyone! Always seek an expert in facial aesthetics, such as a board-certified dermatologist, to maximize results while minimizing side effects

Visible nodules or lumps after filler injection are never normal and most likely represent too superficial placement of the filler. That can be corrected by your injector very easily, however, you should ask why it was injected that way. It is not the filler's fault and certainly not your fault so the correction should be of no cost to you. Good luck!
