Bottom lip looks blue and feels numb after Juvederm 0.5ml and still having pain on day 3 post treatment (Photo)

Question

I had both lips injected with Juv smile 0.5ml in each lip. Top lip is perfect but bottom lip is very sore and has a blue tint to it as well as feels numb and some bruising inside. When will this get better? It’s put me off. I was taking a strong antibiotic and ibuprofen up to day before treatment but don’t understand why my top lip is fine and bottom isn’t.

Sorry to hear about your discomfort. I always get concerned with pain, numbness and blue color changes. To be safe, I would suggest you have an exam with your injector today. I cannot tell from the photos what exactly is going on so you should seek your professional injector. Good luck! Dr. Aldo

I recommend returning to your injector for an evaluation.  It appears from your photo that it may be normal bruising, but the numbness is not typical at this point.  Your injector should be able to advise you.

I recommend following up with your injector. If necessary, the filler can be reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps.
