Bottom lip looks blue and feels numb after Juvederm 0.5ml and still having pain on day 3 post treatment (Photo)

I had both lips injected with Juv smile 0.5ml in each lip. Top lip is perfect but bottom lip is very sore and has a blue tint to it as well as feels numb and some bruising inside. When will this get better? It’s put me off. I was taking a strong antibiotic and ibuprofen up to day before treatment but don’t understand why my top lip is fine and bottom isn’t.

I don’t think your activity level will affect your long term results. I suggest you discuss your results with your injector and consider their advice after an in-person examination. Best wishes. Dr. Aldo

Thanks for your question. You have very pretty and full lips. I certainly would not recommend more than one syringe at a time for a case like yours. As far as if this will be enough will depend on your goals! See an experienced injector/physician only.Good luck. Dr. ALDO

I suggest you go see your injector/physician. Late swelling is a concern and you need an evaluation. This may require additional hyaluronidase and it is known to be occur uncommonly with juvederm.Good luck. Dr. ALDO

Is it safe to combine Juvederm 3 (UK) with Juvederm Ultra (USA)?

Yes, it is fine to combine fillers. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers.  I hope this helps.
