How long does Juvederm for tear troughs last? (Photo)

Question

See attached photos for before and after (Top: Before, Middle: 2 weeks, Bottom: almost 2 months). I’m starting to feel like it’s wearing off. This is only 1 syringe. Could excessive workout, coffee and nicotine gum accelerate the wear off?

Juvederm results for tear troughs generally last up to 12 months. Working out and metabolism can decrease the longevity of dermal fillers. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question and photos.  Voluma is a very good filler for your cheeks and midface.  It is a bit of a larger molecule, so it is usually placed deeper in the skin, (subdermal).  The sales people will tell you it lasts about 2 years.  In our experience it last about a year and a half.  As far as Juvederm Ultra Plus, (which we like for the nasolabial folds), and Juvederm Ultra, (which we like for the lips), the sales people will tell you it lasts about a year, in reality about 9 months. Every person is different so it can last a longer or shorter time period, depending on the patient.  It has been our experience that some folks that are hypermetabolic, (in the gym twice a day, etc.), tend to break down Botox and Fillers faster.  Our very expressive patients also tend to break down the products faster.  Each individual is different.  Please see a well trained, experienced injector.  Discuss your goals, and you should be able to come up with a plan.  Jeffrey J. Thanks for your question. Dermal fillers in the tear trough last about 12 months. Juvederm is not a favorite under the eyelids because of swelling. Workouts, coffee, nicotine should not affect it lasting, but smoking makes people look older! Stay away from smoking. Consider getting a re-evaluation from your injector and see if additional volume is required. Best wishes. Dr. Aldo
