I had a primary rhino/ septoplasty in 2009. I was pretty pleased with the result, but now I feel I would benefit from my nostrils being made less flared. My doctor did not touch them during the surgery, I believe he was being conservative because I had a very wide nose to begin with and he wasn't sure how it would heal. I'm not sure exactly how this surgery works, although I have done some research on the internet, I would like a professional opinion...

I agree that you will need cartilage grafts to help push down the tip of your nose. If you had previous breathing issues it is likely that the septal cartilage has been harvested and you may end up requiring a rib cartilage graft to push the tip downward. If there is no breathing...
