Board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon with over 15 years of experience.
I booked my extended neck lift with Dr. Wayne because he’s double board certified, and while he might be more expensive than other surgeons, you don’t want to take chances when someone is working on your face. He and his office staff were great. Surgery went well, but I did have some unexpected swelling three days post op, but he got me back into his office the following Monday, removed the fluid, rewrapped me with some compression, and inserted a temporary drain. Swelling went down and drain was removed a few days later. After the swelling went down, my face healed quite well. On the left side, there is no visible scar and on the right side, there’s just the slightest scar on my hairline. I’m sure it will continue to fade. My main goal with this surgery was to get rid of the slight jowls I was forming and it did so beautifully. I falsely assumed that a neck lift would smooth my under chin droop, but in a follow up visit, he said I would need a full face lift to fix sagging skin under the chin. That was pretty disappointing, so I guess I’ll wait a year, then schedule that. I do recommend Dr. Wayne. The results are subtle with minimal scarring. Updated on 4 Jan 2025: I have a follow up appt with Dr Wayne in February. I’m hoping to can help me find a solution to the under chin sag that doesn’t involve a full facelift. If anyone has suggestions, I’m open to hearing them! I’ll update after my appt. Updated on 22 Apr 2025: Since my last update, I’ve seen Dr. Wayne regarding my neck droop. He treated the area with a round of Profound RF on March 6, 2025. It wasn’t painful at all because he used blocker injections to completely numb the area. It’s supposed to take up to 6 months for the procedure to build collagen and really show the full effect. I’ll update images again in September.
Dr. Wayne is the only way to go when getting a septorhinoplasty. After extensive research, i made my choice to use Dr. Wayne and am very pleased. My breathing has improved significantly. He was able to take into account my facial features and helped shape my nose to add more femininity while keeping it very natural looking and a subtle change. I am in love and am very happy with my decision. Thank you!!
Excellent, Above and Beyond experience today at my appointment with Dr. Wayne. Not only did he take extra time to ensure my comfort during my treatment, but answers all my questions, as well as listens to what is bothering me. I have been going to him for 3 years now and would never dream of going to anyone else. I am thankful beyond words for his passion & dedication to helping people look their best while keeping them safe as well as not over doing it. He is honest and will not hesitate declining to do treatments requested by patients if he believes it will be too much/look overdone. His staff is well trained and maintains his standards. Thank you Dr Wayne for all you do & God Bless you and your staff.
Extremely talented, conservative provide who focuses on function as well as aesthetics in his work. A leader in the closed rhinoplasty movement, Dr. Wayne was upfront with me about my options and potential for complications, based on my natural anatomy and the complicated deviated septum repair. Honestly, he underpromised and overdelivered. My nasal breathing is restored for the first time in my adult life (I’m in my mid 30s!) and the slight cosmetic changes have resulted in an extremely balanced look. His staff is top notch. You absolutely get what you pay for with this procedure and Dr. Wayne is worth every penny. Recovery is not “easy” but you have staff and nurse support the whole time.
I had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr Wayne. Years ago I had a primary that left me extremely disappointed and self conscious. In the primary they had rasped down my bridge making it appear significantly wider and over the next few years I developed alar retraction and a droopy tip. It was very difficult for me emotionally. I had a ton of regret. I was cautious about having an additional surgery knowing the emotional toll the first one had on me. I thought about it for the past 2 years and looked at many doctors. I felt confident in Dr Wayne because of his great reviews and natural style (my natural nose was not tiny). All that said, I'm 3 weeks out and in some ways I've been impressed by Dr Wayne, but in other ways the experience has caused me more regret. I had significantly less bruising and recovery. And I do feel that he did exactly what he said he would do (he has integrity and did what was discussed). It just looks so very different- more different than I thought it would. He has a very specific style and while he did tell me his plans, it was more than just my short list and now I regret having agreed to all of it. If you need a revision I do recommend Dr Wayne. But think long and hard about getting a revision at all. Changing your face is simply a difficult and emotional experience. Updated on 12 May 2022: Wanted to provide an update, I still am unsure what to think about my revision. I do think Dr Wayne did what we discussed and it is smooth and fairly symmetrical. But I think it is simply difficult to look at a morph and understand exactly how much is changing on your face! I wish Dr Wayne and I had communicated better on a few things beforehand. And I wish I had realized just how different I would look. Bruising was gone after 2 weeks- it was minimal which I attribute to Dr Wayne's skill. Swelling has been unreal. It was scary bad. It has settled down and I felt like I could go out in public at around 3.5 weeks. I understand this is typical for a revision, especially with extensive graft work. Main concern currently is that my bridge seems augmented more than I had expected. It seems to start up higher in between my eyes. My scoop is gone which we agreed was necessary to make the front look better, but now it looks almost like a hump and it just looks like more of a change than expected. Dr Wayne has told me that it is swollen (the skin and the graft itself) plus the graft will reabsorb a bit (the glue and fascia especially) so hoping that it reduces down more with time. And that ultimately the radix is closer to where my original radix was. Hoping I can adjust and de swell and like it more. Updated on 14 Sep 2023: Hi, I've been meaning to add this review for almost 6 months now, but kept forgetting as frankly I rarely think about my nose anymore. Which for me is a clear indicator of success. After my primary surgery, I was very insecure and thought about my nose multiple times a day. It was a horrible mental load. I now feel that I have entirely moved on and for that I'm incredibly thankful for Dr Wayne. It was a very emotional process to watch it heal and de-swell and just to adjust to the change, but I can say that I am so happy I went through with it and that I chose Dr Wayne. I feel much more confident and happier. My goal wasn't for it to be perfect, but to be less self conscious and to not be preoccupied thinking about my nose and I certainly have achieved that and more. It is not perfect, but I am very happy and content. I'd highly recommend for anyone deeply wanting a revision.
I’m writing this review at 11 months post-op, as I wanted to see my final results first. I’m excited to finally share my wonderful experience getting a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Wayne. I got my first rhino from a non-facial plastic surgeon to remove my dorsal hump. As the swelling subsided from my first rhino, I noticed the surgeon had removed too much from one side of my bridge, leaving my nose looking very crooked. When I spoke with her about it, she pretty much denied that it was crooked at all. I was devastated. I was unhappy for years after this. My mental health and self-esteem were seriously impacted by how unsatisfied I was with the look of the nose on my face. I’m glad I took time to heal from this emotionally scarring experience instead of acting impulsively and asking her to fix what she’d done. Once I was ready, I set out to find a surgeon I could trust with my revision. That was Dr. Wayne. He is an absolute miracle worker. He’s a facial plastic surgeon with VAST experience doing revision rhinoplasties. He’s incredibly skilled and has an extremely precise eye. He completely re-shaped all of the unsightly parts of my nose using my own cartilage from behind my ear. I now have my dream nose! And it also looks very natural on my face. I truly thought my nose was beyond repair, so this really is like a dream come true. I’ll forever be immensely grateful for Dr. Wayne and the nose he has given me!
Dr wayne gave me my identity back. Those who have been severely botched, disfigured know how devastating it is on your self esteem and how much it impacts your social life. I've been self conscious for the last ten months. Today was cast removal day and i have a nose that i am not ashamed of. It looks natural and i am excited to be the outgoing person i have always been. My primary surgeon i knew cast removal day it was wrong and it got worse each day that passed. I had grafts fall out of my nose, my nose was twisted, s shaped, collapsed, saddle bag deformity and a high retracted nostril. It was painful and i couldn't breathe. Dr wayne took my nose on when others said it was too severe. He was extremely honest and in my opinion modest on his abilities and expectations. The results exceeded what we discussed. I feel even while swollen that i look normal again, very natural, very even/symmetrical results and can breathe again. Also, the staff are amazing. The whole experience was above expectations
So, here we go! I have been looking for a revision surgeon ever since I ended up with the typical skinny pinched 90s nose job that I expressly said I did not want but ultimately realized was all that surgeon knew how to do. Over the years, it got skinnier and pinched in more at the tip, leaving me with a serious dent on my right side. I had a revision with Dr. Richard Davis in 2005 that left me with absolutely no difference in ability to breathe or aesthetic appeal. Within two months of my surgery, my nose had shrunk right back to where it was before the revision. Dr. Davis kept telling me to wait, but I kept saying that I'm not Pinocchio and after being ignored for a few months, I just never went back. I gave up for awhile. When I moved to Massachusetts, I began a search for another rhinoplasty revisionist. I consulted with Le in Ellicott City but put it off as I needed ten thousand for my share of the surgery. Life got in the way. I finally scheduled surgery with Le for March 2020. but we all know what happened. I honestly consider it a good thing as over the next few months I decided that this was not the way to go and decided to keep looking. I tried to schedule a consultation with Dr. Reich but could never get a call back. When I looked into the practice, it appears to have a lot of surgeons so felt like a black hole to me. After talking to a couple of people who consulted with him, I decided it was a sign and gave up. I had a consult for a facelift with a well respected surgeon in Boston and asked him if he knew a good rhinoplasty revisionist in Boston and got a firm "no" headshake. He advised me to just live with what I had rather than risk a revision. Kept looking. I found Dr. Wayne on realself and took advantage of the site's offer to pay for consults after reading reviews and communicating with other patients. We initially did a Zoom consult, which went well in terms of getting an idea of how he works. He made it very clear that he did not have 100% satisfied patients, I could tell by his tone and demeanor that it upset him, that everyone isn't totally happy, and that he could only control what happened on the table; how I heal would have a great deal to do with the outcome. I am also sixty-years-old, so that makes a major difference in the result. He also made it clear he wouldn't agree to do the revision without a physical consultation. I totally get that so scheduled for May. I don't think he or his staff ever expected to see my OKC, much less have me go through with two surgeries in a week. It was a pleasure working with Corinne and the other staff in the office. They are very accommodating. I flew in for my consult, which isn't an easy trip from Mass. but all went well. The first thing I said to him was, "I'm not dying with this nose." He told me what he thought he could achieve and made me very happy when he said he could give me my bridge back. I also decided to consult for a facelift as I would have to stay in Oklahoma for around three weeks. It didn't make sense to do the nose and then get the facelift in Boston. Dr. Wayne also offered more for the basic fee, including fat grafting and Co2 laser, although with travel, car rental, and hotel it all washed out in the end. At the end of the consult, Dr. Wayne agreed to do the revision, which kind of shocked me as I never thought about being turned down by the doctor. I actually think it's a good thing that he doesn't take all cases. I've since been in touch with a couple of patients who were turned down by him because he didn't think he could achieve the results they are looking for. I ended up scheduling the nose for July 9 and the face for July 15. I honestly thought long and hard about using a surgeon so far away from home, as it took A LOT for me to make eighteen days in OKC work. I am a foster mother with toddler siblings, so I had to find someone authorized by social services who could stay with them for that length of time. I seriously vacillated between getting it all done in OKC or continuing the search for a surgeon closer. I had no problem finding someone who does amazing facelifts, but the rhinoplasty revision was a whole other complication. The other issue was that Dr. Wayne is out of my network so no insurance could be applied. I just honestly felt that even if I could save a few thousand dollars, I could also very well end up having to do ANOTHER revision and end up paying full price the next time around for MORE money overall. I really felt Dr. Wayne could do the nose and the facelift and leave me with an excellent result. I am also 100% confident that should something now work on well, he will be on my team and address the issue rather than gaslight or ignore me. As he said when I got my facelift stiches removed, "I have plan in my head should x y or z happen." NONE of it was painful at all, he took my rib from my breast augmentation scar, so no new incisions on my chest. That is HUGE given what I've seen in cases with other surgeons. The surgery center right next to his office is excellent and very convenient. I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn Quail Ridge, which is also within walking distance. Apparently Dr. Wayne is building a new facility so won't be there sometime in the future, but if he still does surgery at the facility it still makes it convenient. The hotel has a kitchen, laundry facility, exercise room, breakfast bar, and great television selections. I was healing and working online so spent a lot of time in bed binge watching Netflix shows. I didn't do well with the anesthesia the first time and find that is always the worst part of any procedure for me. For the facelift, Dr. Sean Kelley was my anesthesiologist and he is the BOMB. He made sure I didn't wake up feeling sick, and it was MUCH smoother the second time around. Not sure if you can request but highly recommend him. I also didn't have anyone who wanted to come hang with me in OKC so had to find a service to take me out the surgery center and babysit me until I could function on my own. Corinne recommended Visiting Angels of OKC, which is run by Tracy Slopey, and that worked out really well. I had the same person, Nadine, for both surgeries. She picked me up from the surgery center and stayed with me several hours in to the next morning. I highly recommend that service. I would not have been able to do it if this type of service didn't exist. I am finally home in Mass, trying not to get kicked in the face by toddlers! I'm healing well. The major issue is the numbness in the ears and neck. It feels like I'm wearing a mask and is very strange to the touch. I don't want to be too quick on my jubilation, but everyone is amazed at the nose. I so hope it stays about like this. Everything is healing well, including my newly-fat-grafted lips that look AMAZING. I was planning a lip lift with Dr. Wayne a few months down the line, but even he said I may not need it if I don't lose too much of the fat. I am posting after pictures here. That is HUGE for me. I don't like having my face on the internet but want to help other figure it all out. I don't have before pictures as was not a fan of seeing my face on film in the last decade or so. Dr. Wayne's office has my permission to use my photos and they can be seen in his office. I'm happy to answer any questions and keep people updated. I can't wait to just move on with my life and stop with the boards. Glad this site exists to assist us with our searches.
Dr. Wayne is THE surgeon to go to for a rhinoplasty. He knew what I wanted and delivered it exactly as our consultation showed (honestly even better). I now have the perfect nose! Don’t go to anyone else!
I had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Wayne on the 20th, I just got my cast off today and even with the swelling it looks so great! I had a septoplasty in 2007 that did not assist in the crooked appearance of my nose and I still had some issues with breathing from one of my nostrils. I finally saw an ENT in 2019 in OKC who said he could improve my appearance and breathing at least 90% I payed a lot of money for a rhinoseptoplasty and was very disappointed with my results. I was still very crooked and one of my nostrils retracted and my tip was quite larger. The ENT did not acknowledge the issues and brushed most of it off as swelling. After a year and a half of multiple follow ups with failed in office attempts to fix my nose with laser therapy and resuturing of a cartilage graft to my nostril under local anesthesia I decided to see another provider. I had researched Dr. Wayne originally and saw the other provider due to my impatience with how long it took to get in for a consult. I really wish I waited a few more months so I did not have to go through the year and a half of regretting my rhinoplasty. He has done an amazing job on my revision and I know I can finally be happy when I see my nose in the mirror again. It’s only day one of cast removal and I am so happy with the results and I know I will continue to love it more as the swelling goes down. Updated on 3 Aug 2021: 2 months post op and very thrilled! Straight and suits my face much more than my before. I am so happy I decided to go through with the revision. I do not believe you will regret your decision to do rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Wayne
While the majority of the 400 plus nasal surgeries I perform each year are done with patients under general anesthetic it is definitely possible to use local anesthetic. To do that you will need to be tolerant of full awareness of the surgery and some discomfort while the local anesthetic is injected into your nose and cheeks to numb the area before starting the surgery. Packing will be placed in the back of your nose to prevent anything dripping down your throat during the surgery so will need to breath through your mouth. Most people will require and appreciate some form of sedation drugs such as versed, or valium and IV medications such as fentanyl and propofol to reduce discomfort and increase relaxation as well helping you disconnect from the somewhat uncomfortable process. In conclusion if you are motivated and can tolerate the above issues you are a candidate for nasal surgery under local anesthesia.
Thank you for posting your question and photos. Based on the photos provided it appears that your septum is deviated (obstructing the right nostril). An open Rhinoplasty will address the internal medical concerns, putting the septum back in place, allow for better breathing, and make the nose straight. Scheduling an in-person consultation with a Facial Plastic Surgeon, who has extensive experience with the Rhinoplasty surgery, is the best way to determine if you are a good candidate for the Rhinoplasty surgery and the best treatment plan for you. I have attached a link below to a previous patient of mine who had a similar case to yours. You can see their results by clicking the link. I hope this was helpful & best of luck!Dr. Ivan Wayne
Thank you for posting your question and photos. Based on the photos provided I believe the results you are looking for are realistic. Of course, the best way to determine if you are a good candidate for a Rhinoplasty and the best treatment plan for you is through an in-person consultation with a Facial Plastic Surgeon who has extensive experience in the Rhinoplasty surgery. I also suggest looking at the surgeon's before and after photos to see if you like their work. A good Rhinoplasty is invisible to others and will enhance the surrounding facial features - looking through the photos provided a Rhinoplasty using gentle surgical techniques can address and correct the hanging, bulbous tip and slight dorsal hump without any major bruising and minimal swelling. I have provided a link below to a previous patient of mine who had a similar case to yours. You can see their results by clicking the link. I hope this was helpful & best of luck!Dr. Ivan Wayne
Thank you for posting your question and photos. From observing the photos provided, a Rhinoplasty can definitely address the nose to better enhance your already existing facial features. Using gentle surgical techniques the large hump, drooping tip, and wide, bulbous tip can be corrected without any major bruising and minimal swelling. Scheduling an in-person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon is the best way to determine if you are a good candidate for a Rhinoplasty, and the best treatment plan specifically for you. A good Rhinoplasty is in invisible to others and will enhance the surrounding facial features. Below I have attached a link to a previous patient of mine who had a similar case to yours. You can see their results through the link. I hope this was helpful & best of luck, Dr. Ivan Wayne
Thank you for posting your question and photos. Based on the photos provided, yes, your expectations are very reasonable. A Rhinoplasty can correct your wide drooping tip and also address the slight dorsal hump giving you a more feminine, perky nose. My best advice is to research and look for a Facial Plastic Surgeon who has extensive experience with the Rhinoplasty procedure. Book an in-person consultation to discuss what it is you do not like/wish to change, ask to see their Rhinoplasty before and afters. It is also a good idea to seek out a surgeon who utilizes photo morphing, this will give you an idea of what kind of result you can expect post Rhinoplasty procedure. I have provided a link to a previous patient of mine who had a similar case to yours, where she wanted a more feminine nose to match her facial features. I hope this was helpful and best of luck, Dr. Ivan Wayne
