Longevity of Juvederm Voluma in active person with high metabolism, when will I need a touch-up?

I'm very active and eat clean, just wondering how long I'd be able to go before needing a touch up of 1 syringe of Juvaderm Voluma in each cheek? Botox and filler doesn't last long at all.

Thanks for your question. It is impossible to know prior to injection how long your filler will last in a patient with high metabolism. If you are worried about longevity, consider facial implants or a Y Lift which are either permanent or last longer than dermal filler. Make sure you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Hello, and thank you for your question. It is difficult to determine how quickly a person can metabolize through filler or Botox. Voluma, in general, can last up to 2 years, but if you have had previous Juvederm filler and you metabolize quickly, you could also try a different brand to see if this helps at all. Also, once a product is placed, the results will not always look the same as when first placed. I would suggest consulting with a medical provider to discuss options for you.

It really depends, results can last (in general) anywhere from 6 to 18 months. If you have a really high metabolism, it will more likely last around 6 months or a bit less. If you want more permanent results, you can try semi-permanent fillers like Renuva.

Hello, thank you for your question. I highly recommend consulting with a board certified physician with experience.  Juvederm reports Voluma to last up to 24 months. However, everyone metabolizes differently, it is very dependent on each individual. My recommendation would be to have services complete and gauge your longevity with the product to know when a appropriate time for a touch up would be going forward. I hope this helps you!

Most patient will want to touch up their filler every 12 months since Voluma can last 15-18 months. I do have some patients that will do a syringe every 6 months who have higher metabolism.

Generally I'd say that Juvederm Voluma lasts between 9-18 months, and those with higher metabolism or very athletic may find it to be 6-9 months, but we wouldn't know until we try it in you specifically.

Hello! Great question. In patients with a very high metabolism and activity level, at least anecdotally, fillers don't seem to last as long. Voluma is a longer-lasting filler with a lifespan of at least 12 months in most cases. You may be around 6-8 months but it's really hard to tell until you try it. If you know you metabolize Botox and other fillers quickly, I'd assume you wouldn't last according to the averages. Hope this helps!

Voluma typically lasts 18-24 months with optimal correction.  If for example one syringe of Voluma is used when two is needed you may find you need touch ups more frequently.  See an experienced injector to discuss your concerns and learn what is recommended for you.
