I had a consultation and was advised to get 1 syringe in each cheek of juvederm Voluma. I’m looking for lost volume in cheeks and for a reduction in nasolabial folds. Do you think this would be enough? Also how long is healing process? Going on July 8 for cheeks and to evaluate lip fillers that were done 5 days ago. I am unhappy with the lip fillers

Answer: How much Voluma is enough? In general, patients seeking volume replacement in the midface would start with 1-2 mL during the first visit. I usually tell patients to expect they may need additional volume replacement with 1-2 mL more. Although, as a rule I don't even inject more than 2 mL in the malar cheek during the same visit. Often, 2 mL of Voluma in a patient with your degree of volume may yield sufficient results.

Answer: Voluma One syringe per side of Voluma is a conservative starting point. The wonderful thing about fillers is that you can go slowly and build up to the look you are wanting. You can begin with one syringe per side and evaluate your results. If more volume is needed, you can build from there.

Answer: Cheek filler Thank you for your question. I'd say 1 cc in each cheek is probably a good place to start. I always tell patients that it's easier to add more filler than to take away filler that is overdone. There isn't much downtime at all. I usually ask patients to apply ice afterward and limit activity that day, but that's about it. Sometimes there will be a bit of a bruise, but usually not a large one if any. Hope that helps! -Dr. P
