Dear AliaNas, thank you for your question. After a patient undergoes a surgical procedure, I usually advise them to wear their compressive garments, commonly known as "faja," for at least one month, continuously, and two additional weeks during the night. However, the specific duration may vary depending on the surgeon's preference and experience. Thus, I would recommend that you discuss this with your surgeon to determine the appropriate length of time for your particular case.
Hi, thank you for sharing your question. This is based on your surgeon’s preference but typically 6 weeks.
Surgeons have many different protocols - from no compression at all, to compression for months along with lymphatic massage. After undergoing Lipo 360, it is generally recommended to wear a compression garment (also known as a faja) 24/7 for at least 4 to 6 weeks. During the first few days following the surgery, most patients are instructed to wear the faja continuously, only removing it when showering. After the initial period, you may be allowed to take short breaks during the day, but it is essential to continue wearing it at night for several more weeks to support proper healing and optimize the results. The compression garment may help to manage swelling, reduce the risk of complications, and assist the skin in properly contouring to the new shape. Follow your surgeon's specific instructions regarding the duration and usage of the faja, as individual recovery needs may vary. Additionally, many patients find that continuing to wear the faja for a few extra weeks beyond the recommended period can help achieve even better results.Krishna Vyas, MD, PhD, MHSHarvard, Hopkins, & Mayo Clinic Trained Aesthetic Plastic SurgeonNew York, New York
Thanks for your question. I tend to believe that a good compression garment really helps the outcome of the surgery. The intention of the garment should be to compress areas of lipo. I think its very important that the garment is used everyday and only removed when need to shower for up to 8 weeks. My patients have been very satisfied with how a garment can help the outcome. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Dr. Moises Salama, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
Thank you for your inquiry, each plastic surgeon has their own post op protocol howwver I suggest my patients wear a garment for at least 3 months in order to have a better outcome result. After that you can take breaks from it like using it during the day only and rest at night. The longer the faja is woren the better outcome results you will have and also post op massages are important to aviod lumps on lipo areas. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. Each Surgeon will have their own recommendations they wish to follow when it comes to post op care. I typically recommend my patients to wear their compression garments for 4 weeks 24/7. I would suggest speaking with your Surgeon and following their recommendations.
