Capsular contracture, is a lift necessary? Replacing implants to a bigger size. 160 pounds, 5'7". Would 600 or 60 cc silicone high profile implants and a lift be proportionate for me? Currently have 475 cc silicone implants under the muscle with small capsular contracture. One pregnancy and breastfed. Can I get by without a lift? I'm 40th are old.

Answer: Capsular contracture For capsular contracture, you need to remove the current implants, remove the capsules, place new clean implants and in your scenario likely perform a mastopexy. You need to see an expert in breast surgery. The solution is definitely not placing larger implants.

Answer: Revision One option is to do the capsulectomy and place slightly larger implant in a lower position on your chest wall. This may look nice and natural. However, the implants will be lower on your chest wall. The other option is a capsulectomy and implant exchange for the same or smaller size with a lift, keeping the implants in the same position on your chest wall. This is a matter of personal preference.
