Small, hard knot/lump 6 days post op breast augmentation. Is this normal? (photo)

Dear Lolo0330:  From what I can see in your photo, everything looks completely normal.  It's not uncommon for the bruising to take several days to reach the skin as it has in your case.  I'm not sure what to tell you about the lump you feel.  It's not uncommon for the swelling associated with the procedure to cause a lumpy type of feel, or it could be something completely different.  Of course this is something you will want to discuss with your surgeon but I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point.Best of luck to you!G. Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  It is unclear without an in-person examination what may be causing the hard knot/lump.  It may be a bruise with associated tissue swelling or a cyst.  Best to have your surgeon evaluate you tomorrow as they can give you the best advice. 

Thanks for your inquiry,  honestly you will probably get your best answer at your appointment.  It could be a number of very things from a bruise to a breast cyst-an exam will help,  good luck and happy to hear you are pleased with the results so far.  

The image you submitted looks within normal limits. When your surgeon examines you, they will hopefully tell you this is some bruising following your procedure and will resolve over time.

Thank you for your question. It is common to have nodules post breast augmentation, but you'll want to check with your surgeon. You may have had a little lipoma or fibrous tissue that was made noticeable with the enhancement.

It is difficult to make an accurate determination without a physical exam. You should follow up with your surgeon for evaluation.

During the first week of healing, it is common to feel small lumps due to bruising.  They will go away.  But definitely ask your plastic surgeon tomorrow to take a good look at the area to confirm that nothing is wrong.  Best of luck in your recovery!

It's difficult to tell without an exam what may be the source of the "knot' that you describe.  It may be cyst that is now closer to the surface, it could be a bruise, or something else entirely.  Your surgeon will be better able to advise you at your follow up visit.
