I will be 8 weeks post breast augmentation in 4 days and I was wondering if I can return to Brazilian jiu jitsu? My plastic surgeon wasn't clear with his answer. Looking for more suggestions.

Answer: Kicking Butt after a Breast Aug Hey BJJ, Congrats on your successful recovery! Sounds like you are healing well 8 weeks out. We recommend patients can resume full upper and lower body exercises after six weeks with full intensity. That being said, the most important recommendation is that you listen to your body and slowly integrate back into your daily exercises/hobbies. Take it slow and test it out! Then, check back with your board-certified plastic surgeon if you have any concerns afterwards. Best of luck to you! Sincerely, Dr. Christopher Chang, MD Washington, DC Maryland & Virginia

Answer: Breast aug Thank you for your question and congratulations on your surgery. Typically I tell my patients they can resume all activities 4 weeks after surgery. With that being said you need to listen to your body, if it doesn't feel right then don't do it. I would recommend you follow up with your surgeon and follow their protocol because each surgeon will have their own recommendations. Best of luck to you.
