Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Cosmetic Breast Augmentation Specialist. After 3 months you should be fully healed, however, if you do become pregnant, it may change your breasts. I would suggest holding off on surgery till you are done having children.I hope that helps! Best of Luck!Matthew J. There should be no problem with this however it is a question for the fertility specialist. Check with them first.
Thanks for your question...After 3 months you should be fully healed. You should be able to undergo IVF treatment. If you do become pregnant, it may change your breasts. Please consult your surgeon if you are still concerned. You can learn more on our social media (Instagram and Snapchat): @realdrsix. Regards,
Dear badangz, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
if you're thinking IVF so soon after your planned augmentation. Why risk anything to your breasts when contemplating pregnancy. If successful, your mounds will engorge as well and stretch marks are more likely if you already have implants in place. So if you're dead set on IVF and pregnancy, go for it and enjoy the experience and then when you are done with having children, then go for your 'mommy makeover' and have long lasting results.
Thank you for your question. I would not expect any problems with IVF after breast augmentation. The pregnancy may effect your breast augmentation results a little but should not cause any complications. Discuss any concerns you have with your IVF specialist and plastic surgeon.Jeffrey Thaxton, MD FACSCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for the question. Although you will be "OK" going through in vitro fertilization three months postop breast augmentation, I would likely suggest that you wait on undergoing elective breast surgery until you have completed pregnancies (since they are planned in the near future).Generally however (everything else being equal) it is best to wait until after pregnancy to have any type of breast surgery. It is not possible to predict exactly how a specific patient's breast will change after pregnancy, regardless of whether the patient has had previous breast surgery or not. Some typical changes seen after pregnancy include a decrease in size, “sagging" and/or the development of some asymmetry. On the other hand, some women experience very little change even after several pregnancies.Best wishes with your decision-making and for outcomes that you will be very pleased with.
At 3 months post op, you should be fine to go through the process. Pregnancy may alter the breast, but I would recommend you wear a good support bra. This should help. Check in with all treating physicians.
the hormones for IVF and the subsequent pregnancy can alter your breasts due to the hormones but will have no effect on the implants. wait until the entire pregnancy and breast feeding are completely finished plus at least 3 moths, before considering doing any tune up to your breast appearance.from a safely standpoint, you have nothing to worry about doing IVF after a BA.best of luckdavid berman
Dear Kanora, This is something you will need to clarify with your plastic surgeon. It is common to start using Arnika two days prior to your procedure and taking one pill twice a day. Every surgeon has their own protocol when taking pre-operative supplements and it is important for your...
Thank you for your question! Insurance typically covers most, if not all of the prescriptions for your surgical procedure. Pricing varies on how much your insurance covers. There is an online coupon site for prescriptions, called Goodrx.com that discounts the cost of prescriptions for patients w...
Hi Jasmino, Great questions! Sounds like you are a very active person - as am I! So I can understand how frustrating a recovery with limitation on exercise can be. Not to worry! Breast augmentation recovery is quick swift and most patients experience little pain &...
Thank you for your question! Picking an implant is a very detailed process between you and your doctor. You need to be on the same page as far as your desired look. I would recommend coming to your consultation with a few pictures you like of breasts and showing them to your doctor. Also, in my...
Thanks for your question...It's hard to say without seeing you in person. Your bra band might be rubbing on your incisions. Try folding some large gauze as padding. However, please see your surgeon if you are still concerned. You can learn more on our social media (Instagram and Snapchat): @...
It certainly does appear as though you are developing symmastia. It's less common with under the muscle placement, but it's even less common to have your swelling start to INCREASE at 4 months. I would suggest having an in-person consultation by a local breast implant revision expert to be...
