I had my breast augmentation 3 weeks ago. Yesterday lots of yellowish white liquid came out of one of my breasts. I also noticed that this side of my breast is getting smaller. Is my silicone implant leaking?i had contacted with my surgeon and he says that it is impossible that your implant is leaking. Should i go to another doctor? Should i make imr? Is it possible that my implant are not leaking? If it is really leaking, what is the solution?
Answer: Liquid leaking out Dear nola71,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Fluid from incision It is unlikely that the fluid that you are noticing is from a leaking implant. However it is best that you have the area examined by your surgeon to ensure that all is healing normally. The size difference in your breast could be attributed to swelling that is resolving.

Answer: Infected breast implant ? Dear Nola, It would have been helpful to see your front and side view pictures and sorry for your problem. Your surgeon is correct and you do not having leaking silicone, however, if you do not have flagrant infection (fever, chills, pus draining) , you might have 'Biofilm' and you should be seen ASAP by your surgeon, to assess your situation and send specimen of the drainage for culture and sensitivity. I had good success with treating situation like yours with Bactrim DS antibiotics for at least a month in case of MRSA. If the drainage continues despite the treatment, you might need to have the implant removed and wait few months (3-6) for the redoing of the breast augmentation procedure. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: This means exposure and infection, much worse You have implant exposure and by definition this is infected so it needs to be removed. If you are not getting the right answer find another surgeon
