Usually we have patients wait until the incision is completely healed, no scabbing, crusting, flaking or peeling, prior to putting on makeup. With that said, this process is almost always complete by the time you are two weeks out from surgery.
Make sure to ask your surgeon what their preference is, and whether your healing is far enough along to allow makeup.Generally patients can apply makeup after 8 days in our practice.
However, I strongly recommend calling your surgeon and asking if this is fine. They know your eyelids best. They will be managing any issues you have after surgery and are in the best position to answer this question.
At two weeks after blepharoplasty, the incisions should be completely healed over. If that is the case, there is probably no reason that makeup can be worn.
I personally let my patients apply makeup as soon as the sutures are removed. Double check with your surgeon. Good luck, Jane
In most cases, by two weeks post-op, light make-up can be applied. I would check with your surgeon to be sure.
Blepharoplasty is a surgery of your eyelids. The eyelids have some of the thinnest skin on your body. It typically heals well and quickly too. At 2 weeks your eyelid skin should be healed. I would check with your surgeon to make sure you are clear to use makeup. Safety comes first.
Thank you for sharing your question. Makeup can be worn 7 days after surgery, as long as the sutures are removed. Please discuss this with your surgeon, as he/she may have different post-operative instructions for you to follow. I hope this was helpful. Best Wishes, Dr. B.
Be sure to ask your surgeon - you will hear differing opinions on makeup. I have my blepharoplasty patients resume eyeliner and mascara at 10-14 days (suture removal at 6-9 days), but avoid eyeshadow for 4 weeks. Be cautious with rubbing the delicate eyelid tissues when applying and removing makeup after blepharoplasty. There are many gentle cleansers available. Some patients tissues do not resorb plain sutures as rapidly as others and this may leave suture tracks that collect eyeshadow particles. (These suture remnants may be removed if they are not fully resorbed.) Your surgeon can tell you when the timing is appropriate. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question and sharing your photo. You can give the tape a try also try a warm compress. Best of luck!Dhaval M. Patel Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Hoffman Estates Barrington Oakbrook Chicago
The photos provided are unfortunately not optimal for fully evaluating your particular condition. But, in general terms, especially in a very young person such as you, it would be reasonable, in order to avoid surgery, to investigate the technique of nonsurgically elevating the brows--via the us...
You have right upper eyelid ptosis. See an oculoplastic surgeon for evaluation and possible eyelid ptosis surgery. See following link.
The symptoms you are describing may be because you are closing your eyes completely, yet. Discuss with you surgeon and/or see an oculoplastic specialist. It is very early in the healing process so improvement is expected. That's all I can say without at least seeing photos.
There are definite limitations of how horizontally long the eyelid/eye can be and that is limited by the orbit. However, you can reduce the sclera show you are describing to give the eye more almond shaped appearance (rather than round). See following link and video.
Thank you for your question. The time just after surgery can be an emotionally challenging time with much fear and anxiety. Rest assured swelling following blepharoplasty is expected for at least 1-2 weeks following surgery and will improve with time. Continue close follow-up...
