Dr. Kaltreider and her staff are amazing! They did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and I am extremely pleased with the results. I am so glad that I chose this practice for my eyelid ptosis surgery. I had the problem fixed in my left eye and plan to have the somewhat less serious ptosis corrected in my right eye. I could not have found a practice with a more caring and professional staff. Dr. Kaltreider is outstanding and I have complete confidence in her.
Dr. Kaltreider is by far the nicest, most caring, and knowledgeable surgeon I've seen and because of a massive skin infection on my face that left me with scar tissue and skin atrophy, I've seen several surgeons and dermatologists. I finally feel like I have a doctor that truly cares about me and wants to help improve my situation with lasers and without the use of fillers. And I have to say that her assistant Lois is amazing as well! I can't recommend this practice enough!
I have never been to a DR. before that has better bed side manners and the best assistants in the office as well. They are so wonderful and they all make you feel as if you are the most important person there.
Overall, an excellent experience from the first contact with the clinic staff to the consultation and treatment with Botox and CO2 laser with Dr Kaltreider in Charlottesville, VA. Expert and caring throughout. Definitely recommended.
High qualification .Perfect hands and excellent outcome. It was not so easy to find this in one. I had unbelievable trust in this doctor within the time of surgery. The amazing thing was “ no pain surgery “.
Dr. Kaltreider was able to successfully correct a retracted, tight upper eyelid due to scarring from previous surgery. I had been afraid of more surgeries, and was also unable to find a surgeon to help me with this issue in my local area, so had been living with it for many years. I then heard about and traveled to see Dr. Kaltreider, as I needed an experienced specialist in oculoplastics. Her office and staff were wonderful and well-organized, and she was able to successfully perform surgery to fix my problem. My eyelid finally feels comfortable and looks symmetrical with the other one. I only wish I had found her sooner!
I absolutely adore Sara. She's so kind and great at listening, never pushy. I had excruciating pain every time I wore my prosthetic eye and eventually spent a few years without being able to wear it at all. I saw several doctors and no one had answers for me. My mom found someone up north and begged for help, that doctor referred us to Sara. She immediately knew my problem and set me up for surgery to fix it. It's been 7 years and my implant feels better than it ever did. I wish more doctors cared like she does.
The team at Dr. Kaltreider's office are wonderful, they treat you like family from the moment you arrive. Lois and Cindy are a great asset to the practice and they are all about the comfort of their patients, they worked with my schedule to assure I was seen as I have a crazy schedule.
Dr. Kaltreider is an excellent doctor with a great sraff The procedure was thoroughly explained and was performed perfectly. On every visit, I've felt like I was her only patient! Thank you, Carl B
Dr. Kaltreider was amazing and so was her staff. Very personable, professional and knowledgeable about her work. My surgery was quick and painless. I would recommend to anyone with any eye repair needs.
I would recommend non-invasive options first. Neuromuscular blockade in the frontalis - Botox, Xeomin, Dysport... - would relax the frontalis muscle fibers and allow the brows to descend to their lowest possible position. Your brow hairs/ cilia are fair - so if you could go just a bit darker with some OTC tint ("Just-for-Men") - to make them appear heavier and bushier. Don't go too dark or you might find yourself looking like Groucho Marx. Injection of fillers below the brow/ in the eyelid is another alternative - I'm not a fan of fillers in this area, but some practitioners do this. Best wishes.
It is not unusual to have swelling at 2 weeks. There are many factors that contribute to post-operative swelling - even if you have none of these factors, you would have some swelling. See your surgeon for follow up so that he/she can track your progress. In the meantime, keep your head elevated, avoid high salt intake, keep medical problems under control, minimize aerobics - but exercise with your head up. Best wishes.
Your photograph is blurry and does not show enough of the eyelid to answer your questions adequately. I would recommend that you see your surgeon and ask about your options. Best wishes.
10 days post-op is too soon to get out the ruler. Swelling below the skin and deeper in the eyelid layers can cause asymmetry of the eyelid margins, contours, creases, and folds. You will notice improvement in symmetry over the next few weeks to months. Followup with your surgeon is important so that he/she can track your progress. Best wishes.
Swelling after lower blepharoplasty can persist for a variety of reasons. You are quite normal. The texture of the lower lids can be irregular and a little bit firm (bumps included) for up to 4-6 months. Your surgeon will be able to track your progress on examination at follow up visits. Warm compresses, lubrication at night on the skin and eye drops if needed, and tincture of time will help. Massage gently if you and your surgeon decide to include this. Over-massage can lead to skin thinning, crepe-like appearance of the skin, and damage to delicate structures of the eyelid. It does have an important role in counteracting retraction (upward massage at the lateral corners). Best wishes with your recovery.
