Can extended tummy tuck be avoided bt working out and losing weight before my surgery? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question and photos.  Losing weight before surgery might change your shape a bit, but will not address the excess skin in your love handle area.  Excess skin in that area will create a bulge. Your Plastic Surgeon is probably proposing to extend the scar to remove the excess skin, which would give you a better result than just Liposuction of that area.  It is best to go with his or her recommendation.  I hope this was helpful to you.

Could this be an allergic reaction after my breast augmentation a month ago? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question.  It does appear that you are having an allergic reaction.  It is possible that it was from the surgical glue, or what you were using to cover your incision.  Sometimes lotions, soap/bodywash, or laundry detergent can cause a reaction like this.  I would use Benadryl as directed on the package and follow up with your Plastic Surgeon when their office opens.  Good luck.

Can a 10 pound weight change affect the outcome of a mommy makeover? My 3rd and final consult scheduled for feb 15!

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question.  I do not think it will change your outcome at all.   You should be absolutely fine.  Wait until after Surgery to lose the remaining 10 pounds.  You will of course have to wait until you are fully healed to resume exercise (usually a month or two).  Do not go on a strict diet right before or right after Surgery, as this can be dangerous to your body.  Follow your Surgeon's recommendations for pre-op and post-operative care.  I hope this information is helpful to you.

Want to do something to address the tired and aging look of my eyes and have gotten conflicting opinions from doctors. Thoughts?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I must tell you that nothing replaces an in-person consultation.  From your photos, I would recommend an upper and lower blepharoplasty.  The upper blepharoplasty would address the excess skin (and minimal fat) on your upper lids.  The lower blepharoplasty would address the excess skin and fat on your lower lids, which creates the appearance of undereye bags.   This is what makes you constantly look tired.  I would not recommend c02 laser for this delicate area on your face.  Consult with a few more Surgeons  until you find one that you are comfortable with.  I hope this information was helpful to you.

Best Wishes,

Why is my swelling becoming worse 10 weeks after rhinoplasty? My doctor has no answer

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question.  Swelling in the nose after a Rhinoplasty can take up to a year to resolve.  You may find that you swell more when you are extremely active.  It is normal to see swelling come and go at this point.  Try to limit exercise during this time period when you are experience such significant swelling.   Follow your Surgeons advice.  It is hard, but you must be patient.  I hope this information was helpful to you.

A rhinoplasty is supposed to harmonize the face so would Cheek fillers before a rhinoplasty alter the results?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question.  I understand your concern.  If you are worried about this, then it would be best for you to have facial fillers done after your Rhinoplasty.  I personally do not think that using dermal fillers before a Rhinoplasty would alter the perception of what needed to be changed in the nose at all.  But since it is a concern for you, you really should not have the fillers injected before your surgery.  I hope this was helpful to you.

Post op bra wearing. I was told to wait until the 3rd week. Does this seem normal?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question.  You should follow your Surgeon's advice.  Not all Surgeons have the same post-operative instructions.  I have my breast augmentation patients in a sports bra immediately following surgery to reduce swelling.  There is no right answer, since most Surgeons utilize different surgical techniques.  Since your Surgeon is the only one who knows exactly how your procedure was performed, you should most definitely follow his or her instructions.  I hope this was helpful to you.

Thoughts on getting a breast augmentation out of state? How long would I need to stay in Florida post surgery?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing  your question.  In case of any post-surgical complication, it is best to find a local Surgeon.  If you did develop a complication, you might end up having to fly to Florida once a week or so for a while until you are fully healed.  Other Surgeons do not usually take care of another Doctor's surgical complication, so finding a local Surgeon afterwards would be very difficult.  If you do not mind going back and forth frequently if needed, then it would probably be fine for you to have your surgery in another State.  I hope this information was helpful to you.

Best Wishes,

What is a rough estimate regarding total cost for a rhinoplasty, labiaplasty, and possible brow lift?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question.  Payment plans are not available for Plastic Surgery.  In order to finance surgery, you will need a credit card, or a medical financing card such as CareCredit or Alphaeon Credit.  You pay your Surgeon in full with your credit card before surgery, and make payments to the credit card company.  I hope this information is helpful to you.

Do I have enough skin for a tummy tuck to pull down and remove my stretch marks? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for sharing your question and photos.  It seems like it is possible for most of your stretch marks to be removed, but not the highest portion above the navel.  You probably will be left with that small section, but it will be pulled down to below your new navel.  Sometimes the skin cannot be pulled as tight as we want it.  Your Surgeon will perform your Tummy Tuck in a way that is safest, with optimal healing, so if you still have some stretch marks afterwards, it is because you did not have enough excess skin.  I hope this was helpful to you.

Great Doctor Great Tummy Tuck Results.

I've wanted and researched many years for a tummy tuck, doctor and cost. It all came together when I had a consult with Dr. A.K. Bhattacharya. Years prior he had worked on my niece's cleft lip and pallet when she was a child..So I decided to again visit him to see what he had to say and offer..His kindness, love for his craft, patience, informative nature and price for the procedure sold me. So now I'm 6 months out of having the tummy tuck and so pleased with my results and the care he offered. I just was a women born with a mid section that stored all my fat cells In This area and always wanted a flatter narrower waist line and finally live without a bulbous jelly roll where I felt uncomfortable In all my life! I've never had children just born with the jelly belly genes..now I feel so comfy in Jean's, shirts and bikinis the first time In my life! I wish i did it much earlier i stead of 50 years old lol..I highly highly recommend Dr. A.k. Bhattacharya to anyone based on my experience..Thank you Dr A.K. Bhattacharya for your expertise, art and care!

46 Yo Reduction and Lipo - Pre Surgery Jitters!

I have wanted a breast reduction since I was 17 years old. Insurance kept denying me, finally now at a 36H cup I decided eff it, I'll pay for it myself. (Thanks, CareCredit!) I also decided to add abdominal lipo because why the hell not, I'll be under anyway, and thank you forties for changing my metabolism >:( Anyhoo - feeling SOOOOO excited but also a little nervous about the procedure. It will be done under twilight anesthesia, which is exciting bc I won't have to worry about nausea from general anesthesia. I've never had surgery so the thought of going completely under made me nervous. I'm lucky to have a strong support system at home to help me recover, just a little nervous since this will be my very first surgery. I've given birth naturally (not by choice), had Lasik and had wisdom teeth removed, but I don't count those as no one is CUTTING INTO MY BODY (eek) Would love to hear some of your success stories and any advice!

Fantastic experiences with this Dr.

My first experience with this dr. was in 2007 for a breast reduction. When I decided to have a tummy tuck with muscle repair I contacted Dr. Bhattacharya. I am 4 weeks post surgery. I'm thrilled so far.

Face, Neck and Eyes (Upper and Lower) - Freehold, NJ

Everything was terrific. The doctor explained everything before and the surgery went perfect. He answered all my questions and calmed my nerves. His staff is equally as terrific, with appointments, answers to questions, etc. I would highly recommend this doctor for any type of procedure. I still go to him for botox, etc.

25 Year Old Wearing 36HH Bra Who Went Down to a 36D/DD - Freehold, NJ

I initially wasn't going to post anything but finally decided to because reading the posts of those who previously had the surgey done gave me so much confidence going into the procedure. For as long as I can remember I have had large breasts, by the time I was 23 years old I was a 36HH. Since then I have lost 20 pounds but nothing from breasts, so I finally decided to get a breast reduction. I had recently changed insurance companies and this one (qualcare) did not have has many hoops to jump through to get approved. My plastic surgeon took pictures to prove I had permanent indents in my shoulders and wrote a letter that he would definitely take out 350cc from each breast (he wound up taking out 850cc from the left and 875cc from the right); I was approved for the procedure the next day! I had my procedure scheduled for 3 weeks later. On the day of the surgery I was so nervous but excited at the same time. The procedure took 3 and a half hours and when I came out I was in pain but felt pretty good; I went home an hour later. 2 days later I went for my first post op appointment and had the bandages romoved, I remeber looking at them and thinking they were so amazing. By 5 days post op I stopped taking pain medication and was able to do a lot more. It is now 3 weeks post op and all my sutures are out and I started putting scargaurd MD on my scars (started that 2 weeks post op)! Last night I did have one of the internal dissolving sutures pop through just under my right nipple but I went to my plastic surgeons office first thing this morning and he cut it flush to the skin, so it was no big deal! I also went coat shopping today and was able to buy 2 coats with no problems. (I haven't had a proper fitting coat in years, I almost cried I was so happy!) So all in all I'm feeling great and it is definitely the best decision I have made! I will definitely post and update but I just wanted to let everyone know if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Gained and Lost Approx. 50lb in Two Years - Tummy Tuck W/ Muscle Repair & Abdominal/flanks Lipo

I am 8 days post a full tummy tuck with abdominal muscle repair and minor liposuction on the abdominal and liposuction of the bilateral flanks. I am 23, 5'1, and about 115/120 pounds. I got this procedure because I gained and lost a lot of weight within 2 years and had extra skin and torn abdominal muscles. My recovery has gone quite smoothly this far, however today I noticed that on my left side below my belly button it is more bulged than the right side. To me, it feels a little "mushier" than the other side and is a little painful when I touch it (only the bulged side), but that could be in my head now that I know it's there. My surgery was last monday (12/28/09) and my post-op was on thursday after (12/31/09) and my drain was taken out at that time. My next post-op appointment is the day after tomorrow. Updated on 13 Jan 2010: I got a tummy tuck because after a rapid weight gain than loss, I had a lot of stretch marks, excess skin, and sever muscle tearage and at 23 I was not happy with that. What could this bulge be, what are the possibilities? Should I be worried? Should I call the office tomorrow or wait it out until the day after to see if it goes away? Please help!!! -- Updated on Jan 13, 2010: I am 8 days post a full tummy tuck with abdominal muscle repair and minor liposuction on the abdominal and liposuction of the bilateral flanks. The doctor said that the bulge was a seroma and that it will go away by itself and not to worry, etc. However, I wasn't feeling good the past few days and I didn't actually vomit, but I was gagging and that left side hurt SOOO much and there was barely any pain on the right. First, is it POSSIBLE that it is a torn suture on my abdominal muscle? AND IF it was a torn/ stretched/ ripped internal suture from the abdominal muscle HOW WOULD I KNOW? AND is thre any way for the doctor to know without going back in or sending me for scans, etc.? PLEASE help I am FREAKING out. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
