Uneven upper blepharoplasty. 6 days post op. Swollen or revision needed? (Photo)

Question

hi guys! Just had my upper blepharoplasty done with a great experienced facial surgeon. BUT I'm very concerned about how it looks at day 6 Uneven eyes one round one almond shape. I'm hoping it's just the swelling but to be honest it looks like it could be the cut. One eye (left eye) needs to be redone and cut more in the middle of the eye to make it round as well. I'm freaking out but I know I need to be patient. PLEASE share your thoughts

Thank you for your question.  The time just after surgery can be an emotionally challenging time with much fear and anxiety.  Rest assured swelling following blepharoplasty is expected for at least 1-2 weeks following surgery and will improve with time.  Continue close follow-up with your surgeon and you should see much improvement with the incisions and swelling over time.

Thank you for your question. Patients experience swelling within the first 2-4 weeks after eyelid surgery. The swelling will subside providing you with more youthful eyelids by the end of your recovery period. Thank you for your question.  You are still very early in the healing process, and it may take up to several weeks to see the final results.  Follow your doctors post-operative instructions and remain in close contact with him or her.  Best wishes.

Thanks for your question!  You are still very, very early in the recovery.  You definitely have swelling right now and your eyes will heal at different rates.  I would suggest addressing your concern at your next follow-up appointment, but I think right now you need take a "wait and see" approach.  Good luck!

It is much too early to determine if you will need revision. Your photograph is in up-gaze which can distort the contours when edema is present. Before getting anxious about your results, please see your surgeon for his/her thoughts and reassurance. Best wishes.
