Your surgeon will be able to evaluate you and assess the safety of the surgery. In some cases, this would be a joint assessment to include your primary care physician and your other health care providers.

Individual risk of complication is assessed for every patient before surgery. It is more critical to control metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. I had patients in their 40s who weren't fit for plastic surgery and patients above 65 years old who were suitable for surgery and experienced a remarkable recovery. It is essential to determine your health status before surgery. Every patient undergoes a preoperative evaluation performed by the internal medicine doctor, lab work, and an EKG is done.
