I am a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Tijuana, Mexico. During my first years of medical training, I understand the importance of quality of life. I got interested in plastic surgery because it is life-enhancing. Plastic surgery combines art and science. Anatomical and surgical knowledge is applied to change the form of the body; during this endeavor, I also touch the mind and hearts of my patients. Building a trusting relationship with you is essential so we can work as a team to achieve what you are looking for. My whole team and I will do our best to fulfill your expectations. We want to be alongside you during your surgical journey.
My experience was great. I didn’t have much pain, my scars are barely noticeable. I have a lot of help and all my questions were always answered. My surgery went great! I’m really happy I chose Dr Moran.
I had been contemplating my breast reduction and lipo for years. I’ve seen lots of bad results that honestly made me question who to use. I was referred to Angel Bay by a couple friends who used Dr. Moran. They had only wonderful things to say about their results. After a year of going back and forth with question after question with Angel who manages the scheduling and assists with questions for the Dr. I finally booked my appointment last year. My experience was very easy and the length of testing they do prior to surgery made my feel even more comfortable. He had reconnection to not go with an implant and use my own body fat for a transplant into my breast since I was having a reduction , I was reluctant since I haven’t seen the results in person. However he made me feel very comfortable with his recommendations. Dr. Moran exceeded my expectations and needless to say I am Very very pleased. He has definitely boosted my confidence. I would definitely use Dr. Moran and recommend his service to Anyone. They are very open to questions and response is quick.
5 stars all the way. Received BA, TT, BBL. Dr. Moran & Angel provided me with excellent care from beginning to end. I'm very happy with my results & will definitely be seeing them again. 100% satisfaction here.
My initial surgery with Dr. Mario Moran wasn't cosmetic; in fact, it was to fix my deviation in my septum and rectify the breathing issues I had struggled with for my entire life. This time, however, I wanted to be operated on purely for aesthetic purposes. I wanted my nose to take on a slimmer and more chiseled look rather than the relatively large nose that I had previously. Long story short, Dr. Moran was exceptional throughout the process. In the days leading up to the surgery, we were laying the framework for what I wanted in comparison to what was possible. The results speak for themselves! I'm entering week four of post-op, and I've never been more confident in myself.
After losing weight from weight loss surgery and having 2 previous abdominal plasty done and some things did not coming out so good i found Dr Mario Moran I could not have asked for a better doctor from the time I stated my research and found Dr. Moran and Angel any and all question were answered that I had all my questions were answered to the matter that i completely understood what was going on we worked together to come up with a plan on what i wanted done he always kept my health and wellness first and foremost and would let me know what he thought about things and if it was not safe to do from the time i arrived there I felt safe transportation is arranged for you so you don't need to worry about that part Angel meets you there and is with you thought everything Dr Moran is very professional has very very well bed side manner he is caring and compassionate he even had a conference and skipped it because he was a little worried about me (my pulse was staying elevated a little nothing he did)
Hoy dos meses de mi cirugía muy emocionada con mis resultados. Muy feliz de elegir al D:R MARIO MORAN . Es Muy cuidadoso en lo especial en la seguridad del paciente. Mi experiencia fue muy agradable.
As a Registered Nurse in the United States, and not being "allowed/approved" to have insurance take care of what I desperately needed after losing over 100 lbs after gastric sleeve in 2015, I felt the timing was perfect to get the loose skin that was impossible to "exercise/diet" away taken care of. When I say diet, I do NOT mean it as weight loss. I mean it as I eat well, putting only good, raw, healthy choices into my body. I am a RN at a major city hospital, and I've NEVER had such an amazing surgeon such as Dr. Moran. His bedside manner is exceptional in that he actually listened to my fears, concerns, and answered my many, many questions with patience, kindness and empathy. He made sure up until the minute I left to return home to WA State that ALL my questions, and my husbands, were answered. His calmness is reassuring and he truly treated me as if I was a family member of his very own. This is one reason I chose Dr. Moran, and the other reason is that his work speaks for itself. His hands perform artistically. Truly. You DO NOT get this type of attention in the USA, and I've had many traumatic or emergency surgeries. NONE of my surgeons were so hands on and spent anywhere close to the amount of time with me as Dr. Moran. My husband had zero fears whilst we were in Tijuana/Baja, Mexico for my surgery and recovery. When I say he cares, I mean this wholeheartedly. I wanted to do the Lower Body Lift 360, with Lipo, and did first request this with my breast and arm/bat wings needing plastics too. I am BLESSED that Dr. Moran and Angel, my surgery coordinator, took the time to explain that all that work at once would not be good for me. They were SO right!! I don't know how I would have handled all that at one time. They truly care about their clients and patients. I am writing this at 5-weeks post-op. It ONLY took me this long to write a review because I wanted to express how blessed I feel that Dr. Moran was/is my plastic surgeon. He also speaks English quite well, which is a bonus. You can't go wrong having Dr. Moran as your surgeon too. He exceeded any and all of my expectations. I am not paid to write this review. It comes from my heart.
I had my implants done five years ago. Since last year I was diagnosed with symptoms related to Breast Implant illness. For the past year I have been suffering of pain in my ariculations, vision problems and a lot symptoms with not exponation. My problem was to find a doctor who can help the reconstruction of my breast and do an augmentation with my own tissue to avoid using implants again. Updated on 19 May 2024: It has been a while since I started feeling ill. Finally after running many test looking for an autoimmune illness this theory has been discarted, leaving only two options open; Fibromalgia and BII (Breast Implant illness) Surgery is schedule with Dr. Mario Moran next Wednesday. I’m excited and also nervous but after consulting with my Rheumatologist, I feel that is the right thing to do and that there is a big chance that I will highly improve the various symptomps that are making me sick. Updated on 29 May 2024: I recently underwent explant surgery with Dr. Moran, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Within just six days post-surgery, I've experienced a remarkable improvement, with at least 70% of my BII symptoms resolved. Dr. Moran's expertise and understanding of BII were evident throughout the process, and he not only addressed my concerns but also provided invaluable guidance and reassurance. One of my primary worries was losing volume after removing my implants, but Dr. Moran's skillful approach ensured that the aesthetic outcome exceeded my expectations. Beyond the cosmetic aspect, his focus on my well-being was truly commendable. My experience at the hospital and with Dr. Moran's practice was exceptionally positive. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, every step of the journey was handled with professionalism and empathy. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Mario Moran Romero to anyone considering explant surgery or seeking treatment for BII. Updated on 3 Jun 2024: Twelve days post breast implant removal with lift, I'm feeling remarkably well. The relief from my symptoms is profound, and I'm elated with the aesthetic results. Feeling healthier is a priority for me, and I'm thrilled to experience such a significant improvement. Most symptoms have vanished, and I couldn't be happier. Additionally, shedding 11 pounds, noticing my face isn't swollen, and being free from articulation pain further confirms the positive impact of the surgery on my overall well-being. Thank you so much Dr. Mario Arturo Moran for helping me accomplishing a healthier me!!! Updated on 8 Jun 2024: I wanted to take a moment to share a little piece of my own healing journey with all of you. Recently, I underwent surgery to remove my implants, and the healing process has been nothing short of remarkable. The incisions, though still fresh, are already showing signs of progress, a testament to the body's remarkable ability to heal. I hope this post helps patients to have a picture of the healing process. But more than just the physical recovery, I'm overwhelmed with a sense of renewal and positivity. Already, I'm feeling better, lighter, and more like myself than I have in a long time. Each day brings new opportunities for growth and healing, and I'm grateful to have such a supportive group of friends to share this journey with. In the coming weeks, I'll be starting scar therapy, another step towards embracing my body and honoring the path it's taken me on. I'm excited for this next chapter and eager to help my scars getting better. Regarding my results couldn’t be more happy with my new breast. Updated on 20 Jun 2024: I'm thrilled to provide an update on my recent surgery: explant with a breast lift and implants made from my own tissue. It's been a month since my breast implants were removed, and I couldn't be happier with the aesthetic results. I feel fantastic and am delighted with how natural and perky my breasts look and feel now. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Moran without hesitation. Her expertise and care have exceeded my expectations, and I am incredibly grateful for the transformation he has helped me achieve. I already started slowly exercising again. I’m surprise by the level of energy that I have, something new for me since for two years BII made me feel constantly drained. Updated on 4 Jul 2024: Today mark my 6 weeks explant anniversary and I couldn’t be happier with my results. Healing went very well and now I’m in the stage to take care of my scars with scar therapy. Simptomps from BII had improved at least 90 % including lossing weight without too much effort after explant. Updated on 13 Aug 2024: Hello everyone, I wanted to share an update on my journey three months after undergoing explantation surgery with a breast lift and auto-augmentation using my own tissue. I’m thrilled to report that my health has improved significantly since the surgery. One of the most remarkable changes has been the reduction in symptoms related to Breast Implant Illness (BII). Many of the issues that plagued me before, such as fatigue and discomfort, have vanished, and I now have an abundance of energy. This newfound vitality has allowed me to return to exercising regularly, and I’ve even managed to lose weight—a feat that was incredibly challenging prior to the surgery. The size of my breasts has naturally decreased as the swelling from the procedure has subsided. My incisions are fully healed, and the scar healing process is progressing well, thanks in part to using the Kitocell scar cream. Month by month, my scars are improving, and I’m confident they will continue to fade with time. I’m also sharing pictures to provide a visual perspective on my journey. You'll find before surgery images, as well as photos taken after the surgery and after three months. These visuals highlight the changes and improvements that have taken place, both in terms of my health and the aesthetic results. For anyone contemplating explantation due to BII, I encourage you to trust the process. I initially had reservations about whether removing my implants would be the solution to feeling better, and I was anxious about ending up with a flatter chest. However, those fears were unfounded. I’m genuinely happy that I prioritized my health over beauty standards. Not only do I feel better, but I also love my new breast results done by Dr. Moran. Thank you for following my journey and for the support along the way. If you’re considering a similar path, I hope my experience offers some encouragement and insight. Updated on 15 Sep 2024: I can’t believe it’s already four months since my breast implant removal! I wanted to take a moment to share and update and to express how incredible happy I am with my results and how positively my health has been impacted by my decision. Not only the swelling in my breast significantly reduced, but still have a lovely volume, and I absolutely love the young perky look! Today, even tried on a bathing suit bra, and I was thrilled to see how great it looks without my old implants. Honestly, it looks just as nice as it did before surgery! :) One of my biggest concerns leading up to the surgery was how my breast would look afterward, but I can’t express enough how satisfied I am with what I see in the mirror. My experience has been truly liberating, and I feel healthier and more confident than ever. Thank you Dr. Moran :) Updated on 25 Nov 2024: So happy with my results six months post Explant surgery with a lift. All symptoms of breast implant illness are gone. I love my natural results so natural and perky. I still continue in contact with Dr. Moran and looking forward to do lipo contouring with his practice next year. Amazing experience !!
From a very young age, I tended to be insecure about my appearance. More so than anything, my nose popped out as one of the culprits for the reason why I was feeling this way. I had functional problems with my nose—nose bleeds—and I had a horrible time breathing, sort of like a Bulldog would. Back in November, I decided to look into affordable but highly rated options for my Rhinoplasty surgery. I consulted with Dr. Moran about the surgery, and after a few days of talking through details, I felt comfortable enough with the direction we were headed in. From the surgery to the recovery, my experience was pleasant. Fast forward to today, and I don't regret my surgery whatsoever! I am super content with how my nose functions and appears, and I couldn't recommend Dr. Moran enough!
I had an incredible experience with Dr. Moran as my cosmetic surgeon. His expertise, caring nature, and attention to detail are truly commendable. Dr. Moran took the time to understand my desires and concerns, explaining the procedure thoroughly. His surgical skill resulted in outstanding results that surpassed my expectations. He provided exceptional post operative care, ensuring a successful recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Moran for anyone seeking cosmetic surgery.
Dear Realselfplastic. In my practice, surgical planning is always guided by patient safety and individualized anatomy. My general philosophy is to keep elective aesthetic surgeries within 6 hours of operative time — I do not plan surgeries beyond that time frame, except in very specific reconstructive cases. This is supported by evidence from studies like Wong et al. (Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2015), which found that while the risk of complications starts to increase after 3 hours, the risk rises significantly after 6.8 hours of surgery. In your particular case, the decision to proceed with a circular tummy tuck (belt lipectomy) would ultimately depend on a detailed physical examination. However, based on the pictures you provided, I can already see there is some degree of ptosis (sagging) in the buttock area, and a circular lipectomy is a very powerful procedure that allows us to improve not only the abdominal contour but also lift and reshape the gluteal region in the same operation. My recommendation would be to address the abdomen, perform 360° liposuction with fat transfer to the hips, and complete the breast procedure in the first stage — staying within a safe surgical time. Then, in a second stage, I would recommend a short-scar brachioplasty (arm lift) combined with liposuction and skin tightening technology (such as BodyTite or Renuvion) to improve the arms and anterior torso contour. Beyond surgical time considerations, combining abdominoplasty with arm surgery creates a very difficult recovery because after a tummy tuck, patients need to avoid engaging the abdominal muscles — relying heavily on the arms to sit up, stand, and support movement. If the arms are also healing from surgery, this limits mobility significantly and increases the risk of wound healing problems. Staging these procedures allows us to maximize safety, optimize recovery, and achieve the best possible aesthetic results.
The most important thing right now is to keep strong communication with your surgeon and follow their instructions closely. In situations like this, time is really our best tool — nipple grafts go through different stages of healing and sometimes take several weeks to fully integrate.Graft integration is the process where the graft (the nipple-areola tissue) reconnects with the new blood supply from the chest wall. Early on, the graft survives mostly by absorbing nutrients from the wound bed (this is called plasmatic imbibition), then tiny new blood vessels begin to grow into it (neovascularization). This process can be slow, especially if the graft had areas of poor circulation or pressure. It’s normal for scabs to form, and sometimes the appearance can look worse before it looks better.Even in cases where part of the graft doesn’t survive, the body is very good at healing these areas over time — and there are always options later for tattooing or revision if needed.Stay patient, stay connected to your surgeon, and give your body time to do its work.
In your case, I would recommend a double incision mastectomy with free nipple-areola complex (NAC) grafts. This approach allows us to achieve a flat, masculine chest contour and gives us excellent control over nipple size, shape, and position — which is really important for a natural result.I would also suggest adding some fat grafting to the pectoral muscle area. This doesn’t add bulk but helps create a softer, more aesthetic transition and enhances the overall shape of the chest.Regarding sensation — it’s important to know that with free nipple grafts, most patients will lose some or all sensation in the nipple area initially. However, nerve regrowth can happen over time, and some patients recover light or protective sensation. There are also newer techniques we can use during surgery to attempt nerve reconnection (called nipple reinnervation). While this is still considered experimental and results vary from patient to patient, it's an exciting area of development in top surgery. Many of us are actively using these techniques to improve long-term sensation, with encouraging early results
Hi! Based on your photos, I would recommend a double incision top surgery. This technique would allow me to remove the breast tissue, reduce the size of the nipple-areola complex, and reposition the nipples to a more masculine and natural location on the chest. It also allows me to create a flatter, more contoured torso, and place the scars low on the chest, following the natural line of the pec muscle, so they stay in a more hidden position over time.I believe this approach would give you the best aesthetic result and the most control over shape and nipple position.Let me know if you have any questions — happy to help!
Periareolar removal of breast tissue is an excellent option in cases like yours, especially with good skin elasticity and minimal breast volume. To help the skin redrape and tighten even more, adding a skin tightening device like Renuvion (J-Plasma) or BodyTite during surgery can provide an extra boost to improve contour and minimize excess skin without large scars.A consultation will help determine if you’re a good candidate for this approach.
