I cannot say enough good things about my explant experience with Dr. Khan. His mastery in explant surgery, especially with total capsulectomy (complete capsule removal), truly sets him apart. He handled my case with such precision and care it was clear from the start that I was in the hands of an expert. Not only did he remove everything thoroughly and safely, but the way he did my stitches was incredible. His technique was so meticulous that I healed faster than I ever expected. My incisions were clean, minimal, and beautifully done. I could tell he truly takes pride in his work, and it shows in the results. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Khan’s professionalism, skill, and the compassion he showed throughout the process. If you’re considering an explant and want someone who is a true artist in the operating room, I highly recommend him.
Dr. Khan and his staff go above and beyond to help you make the best decision for yourself. They make you feel comfortable and confident from the beginning of the process to the end. After researching many “ex plant” “experts”, Dr. Khan by far exceeded my expectations. He actually listens to his patients and sincerely believes in helping women gain their health back. Updated on 25 Mar 2025: After being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2019, going through chemo and opting for a double mastectomy and implants, I thought at the time it was the right decision for me. Within weeks of having the implants placed, I was experiencing back pain that would not go away. As time went by, I continued to develop symptoms of autoimmune disease, brain fog, joint pain, hives, severe fatigue and the list goes on. I had multiple tests run only to be told that I am fine. Lots of research later, I came across BII only to be told that it’s not a real thing. Dr. Khan was recommended by someone who experienced the same issues. After setting up my consultation and talking to his staff as well as himself, I waited a few more months just to make sure and get a few other opinions. These conversations led me back to Dr. Khan. The support and knowledge that he shares with his patients goes above and beyond a typical Dr. He truly believes in BII and that implants are making women sick. From the beginning of the process and as I’m just 4 days post op, the staff and Dr. Khan are there for questions anytime of the day/night. If you are thinking of explanation, please consider Dr.Khan. You will not regret it.
Dr Khan, Shaher and his team, Sally Administration, Caitlyn Registered Nurse, and Radwa CRNA were all amazing. They were all experts in their fields. Dr Khan is very skilled and compassionate. He truly cares about his patients and achieving the best results and outcomes. I did extensive research and discovered that he is one of the best at breast implant removal/explantation. I traveled from Georgia to have him as my doctor and it was definitely worth it.
Amazing experience as far as a surgery is concerned. I went into my procedure in good health. But I was surprised at how easy recovery has been and I assume it’s due to Dr. Khan’s explant method. Post op was a breeze. As far as the experience leading up to surgery, Dr. Khans team is impressive. They patiently answer all questions. They are helpful and reassuring. I highly recommend this practice
I had my explants for 15 1/2 years. I have so many symptoms off of the breast implant illness chart. Beast implants are not lifetime devices.. they are meant for 10 year max. I am 4 days post op explant removal with full complete capsulectomy. I had Dr. Khan as my surgeon. I reviewed him for over a year. I am so glad that he was my surgeon. I feel confident in his process. I know that he removed all of the capsule as I have videos and pictures. I have not had any pain just soreness. I wish I would have done this sooner!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Shaher W. Khan and his team! From my first consultation to post-operative care, the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Dr. Khan was compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly listened to my concerns about my explant surgery. They took the time to explain the process, answer all my questions, and make me feel completely at ease. The surgery itself went smoothly, and I’m so pleased with the results. The level of care and attention to detail was outstanding, and I felt supported every step of the way. If you’re considering an explant surgery, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Khan. They have a true gift for helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their care.
I had saline implants over the muscle for over 10 years and BII is real. I was gaining waiting, constantly fatigued and depressed and I accepted it thinking it’s normal stress of life at work and home. But once I did my homework and read about BII I knew I had it and once I explanted I can now confirm I feel better. I’m three weeks post op and I’ve dropped 11 pounds and I no longer get tired throughout the day. My chest feels so much lighter and I’m so much happier without the heavy skin pulling bags I had in. Explanting with DR.Khan is a serious decision you will not regret. I’ve had every question answered and first class service. I did not need any hard pain meds and his method doesn’t require drains which makes the post op recovery process so much more efficient. Do not suffer any longer and see a surgeon whose patients had real change and real results.
Great experience and staff... Anesthesia went great. Ready for all the healing, recovery and no more toxic bags in my body. My CRNA was amazing with my care. Thanks for great care and communication.
My experience with Dr Khan has been great! He took his time to explain exactly what he plans to do for my explant and answered every question and concern I had throughly. He genuinely cares about his patients and giving them the best care.
Everything about this whole experience was so effortless and easy. The whole staff is so wonderful and accommodating. I am so pleased with Dr. Kohn! I am very pleased with my results and the way I feel.
Hello, thank you for your question. It’s completely understandable to feel apprehensive about the outcome after breast implant removal, especially when it comes to the potential changes in appearance. Since you’ve had saline implants for 20 years and are seeking removal without a lift, there are several factors to consider regarding what to expect. Please see the attached video that answers your question in detail. Continue to have open discussions with your surgeon about your concerns regarding the appearance after removal. They can provide more specific insight based on your anatomy and help you come up with the best approach that fits your needs and budget. Best of luck with your decision, and remember that every woman's experience and results are unique!
Hello, thank you for your question. It is completely understandable to have concerns or questions regarding the long-term effects of your breast augmentation, especially if you were not fully aware of the muscle manipulation that occurred during the original surgery. In the attached video I explain muscle repair and reattachment and answer your questions/concerns. Consulting with a highly skilled plastic surgeon who understands your history and unique anatomy is crucial in deciding the best approach for your explant surgery. They can help assess the need for muscle repair and advise on what would provide the best outcome both functionally and aesthetically.
Hello, thank you for your question. It sounds like you’ve been through a complex series of procedures related to your breast augmentation and subsequent complications, such as symmastia. The lingering pain and the issue with skin underneath your breasts or near the sternum are definitely concerns that need to be addressed. Please see the attached videos to discuss your concerns. I recommend to consult with a couple of board-certified plastic surgeons that will tailor your goals and treatment plan.
Hello, thank you for your question. It looks like you are possibly experiencing some post-explant complications that may be related to scar tissue, adhesions, or residual effects from the implant surgery, particularly given the symmastia revision and the fact that the capsule was not removed during explant. Please see the attached video that discusses your question in detail. I recommend consulting with a plastic surgeon who specializes in breast revision surgery, scar tissue massage or physical therapy might also help in some cases to release tension in the muscles or skin. A capsulectomy could alleviate the pain and improve the contour.
Hello, thank you for your question. Explanting (removal of breast implants) will likely cause some noticeable changes to your breasts, but how dramatic the changes are will depend on several factors. Based on your description of having saline implants with mild capsular contracture, I have discussed possibilities in the attached video. Please view this. If you’re concerned about the potential outcomes (such as sagging or a significant reduction in volume), options like a breast lift or fat transfer after explanting might be worth discussing with your surgeon to help restore shape or volume. A consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can assess your breast tissue, current breast shape, and desired outcome is crucial to determine the best plan for you. Lastly, be patient with the process of recovery as the tissue and skin may need time to adjust to the new, post-explant shape.
