Full vs. Mini Tummy tuck Hi. I had lost weight in the past and was left with small pouch of loose skin and fat around my belly area. I had undergone 10+ radiofrequency skin tightening sessions with minimal results. Am I a good candidate for tummy tuck and if so, would mini-tummy tuck suffice in order to flatten my stomach area and remove the pouch? Many thanks.
Answer: Mini tummy tuck versus full tummy tuck If the only thing that bothers you is the skin roll, then a mini tummy tuck will get rid of it. It seems that you have good muscle tone and no excess skin above your belly button. A tummy tuck if you haven't had kids, loose skin above your belly button and muscle separation, is not indicated.

Answer: Abdomen If you are content with your upper abdomen, just do the mini tuck. This will remove the lower pouch and can tighten the lower muscles as well.

Answer: Mini tummy tuck You are a good candidate for liposuction with a mini-tummy tuck. Liposuction alone will likely not completely flatten that area. This can be done with a light oral sedation, local tumescent anesthesia with no drains. I would not hesitate to proceed.

Answer: Lower body lift 360 circumferential lower body lift belt lipectomy massive weight loss extended tummy tuck Hello GIMYEKIS, Thank you for reaching out with your question about the best approach to flatten your stomach and remove the pouch. Given your history of weight loss and having undergone 10 radio frequency skin tightening procedures with minimal improvement, it's important to carefully consider the most effective surgical option. Based on your situation, a full tummy tuck, rather than a mini tummy tuck, is likely the more suitable choice. A mini tummy tuck typically only addresses excess skin and fat in the lower abdominal area and doesn't involve repairing the rectus abdominis muscle wall or altering the belly button. In contrast, a full tummy tuck offers a more comprehensive solution. It involves removing excess skin and fat from the area above the pubic region up to the belly button. This procedure also includes lifting and flattening the pubic region, tightening the rectus abdominis muscles (which helps bring in the waistline), reconstructing the belly button, and overall contouring the abdominal area. Given these factors, a full tummy tuck seems to align better with your needs and goals for a flatter stomach and removal of the pouch. However, it's crucial to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a personal evaluation and to discuss your options in detail. Wishing you the best on your journey toward achieving your desired results. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Considering options From the posted photos it appears you will have improvement with a mini tummy tuck. This will remove the excess fullness below the belly button. It will not address any loose skin above the belly button. An in person evaluation is needed to determine if you have muscle separation above the belly button. If so, then a full tuck would be recommended. I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Mini tummy tuck Most of your excess skin appears to be below the umbilicus so you may get by with a mini tummy tuck. You can have a full tummy tuck done but I think that would be excessive. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
