Is it normal to have a pig nose after a lip lift?

I had a lip lift two days ago, and I realize its much too early to see what the final results will look like, but I'd like to know if its normal for my nostrils to look wider and flared and as if they've been pulled down somewhat. There doesn't seem to be a whole of of swelling or bruising on my lip, but I'm hoping that there is and I'm just not seeing it. Is it normal to have pig nose immediately after lip lift? and can i expect that this will go away. Thanks!

You may still be swollen. I would use SwellX after the surgery and massage the scar with Plato's Scar Serum in anticipation of future fractional laser. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles

It is too early to see the final result. The tip can appear to be rotated from the swelling which can give the appearance of a "pig nose". Give it 6 weeks and have your surgeon reevaluate your result and answer your concerns.

With an upper lip lift, one risk (that usually can be avoided through certain techniques done by an experienced surgeon) is distortion of the columella and or nostrils.  At such an early post op time, it is far too early to worry about this, but be aware that this can be a complication.
