Would a lip lift change the shape of your nose?

It is possible to avoid any alternations to the bottom of the nose when an upper lip lift is performed.  In my hands, this is achieved through a combination of incision design (having the incision extend into the nostrils/floor of the nose), and suturing technique (having the deep sutures secured to the very posterior aspect of the bottom of the septum so there is no pulling down on the columella, and deep sutures to the base of the nostrils).

I do up to 7 lip lifts per week, right in the office, and we've not had any problems with the nose pulling down or widening (which can sometimes occur I've noticed from other physicians).The secret is in the design of the incision and in making sure it's not too central only so you don't look like a "rabbit".
