Typically, you may enjoy sexual activities as your body allows with the following restriction: avoid straining and any aerobic activities for 3 weeks after surgery. This is to avoid bleeding, bruising, and swelling. Do not resume strenuous exercise for 4 to 6 weeks. Your doctor will give you a recovery protocol to follow and let you know when it is safe to do certain things. Congratulations your tummy tuck! Thank you for your question I usually tell my patients to wait at least 4-6 weeks, but every surgeon has different post op care instructions your PS should be able to answer any of your questions and concerns.

Thank you for your question.  I tell my tummy tuck patients that its 4-6 weeks before they can return to all regular activities.  This includes sex/masturbation.  Engaging in vigorous activity before then can result in seroma/hematoma and wound breakdown.

You should be in the clear to partake in sexual activity after 2 to 3 weeks from your surgery date.  Be sure to be gentle with yourself, and make your sexual partner aware of your situation, and to be gentle as well.  

You should avoid vigorous activities for now until you are about 6 weeks healed from surgery. At 3 to 4 weeks you could consider less aggressive activities and wear your abdominal binder during these activities. Please stop if you experience pain. You also may find you do not function normally while taking pain medication.
