Before tummy tuck I could lift my flab and retrieve my penis from the fold now after tummy tuck my penis feels like it is sitting behind my testicles and I can retrieve it sorry for my word choice but been obese all my life till this past year now I'm worried about my penis being permently buried

Before your surgery, excess abdominal skin (the “flab”) likely covered your penis, making it seem hidden within the fold. After the tummy tuck, the excess skin has been removed, and your body is adjusting to its new shape. However, if there is still residual fat in the pubic region or the mons pubis area was not sufficiently lifted, it can cause the penis to sit lower or appear buried behind the testicles.

This condition is typically not permanent, and there are treatment options. If the issue is related to excess skin or fat in the pubic area, a mons pubis lift or liposuction of the area can help reveal more of the penis. It’s important to follow up with your plastic surgeon to assess the situation and determine the best course of action for you.

Hi, Thank you for your post. I am sorry that you are dealing with that. It is really hard to tell what is going on without an in person exam. It may be from post-op swelling and tightness that will release over time. I would recommend following up with your plastic surgeon.

Thanks for the question and sorry you're having this issue.
It's not possible to tell just from your description what's going on, but it may be an issue with post-op swelling if early or scarring if later in the post-op phase.
You should discuss your concern with your PS who will examine you and advise you appropriately.

If you are in the immediate postoperative period, the this may just be due to swelling and some skin tightness that may relax with time. It is impossible to know for sure without a full story, pictures and a good physical exam. All you can do for now is talk to your surgeon and give it some time.
