Tape placed over your incision should not feel like that. I would consult your surgeon so he can exam you.
Thank you for your question. As a result of swelling, tape placed over your incisions may develop the additional sensation of tightness, but should not be constricting as it does not go all the way around your abdomen. Because of the severity of your symptoms I would recommend reaching out to your surgeon for an in-person evaluation.
I appreciate your question. No that is not normal. Please follow up with your plastic surgeon so he/she can examine you at this time. The best way to assess and givetrue advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certifiedplastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery.Best of luck!Dr. Schwartz
Thank you for your question. Surgery tape can sometimes be uncomfortable, but not to the point that it is cutting off circulation. I would recommend that you visit your plastic surgeon for an in-person assessment. All the best,
Surgery tape should not feel so tight that it is cutting off circulation. It most likely has tension on it due to swelling, but whether or not it needs to be adjusted can only be determined by seeing you in person. I recommend seeing your surgeon to make sure everything is fine, and to have him/her adjust the dressing to make sure you're comfortable. When tape is too tight or being pulled, it can result in blisters. If that happens you just want to make sure you care for the open wounds from the blisters with dressing changes until they are healed.
Greetings! The tape might be tighter now due to swelling. If you feel very uncomfortable with the tape that's not good and you should call your surgeon ASAP so it can be adjusted. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo
Most surgeons will use some form of compression or tape following abdominoplasty and generally it is tight. However, you would not want the compression to be so tight as to compromise circulation. You should give your plastic surgeon a call ASAP and let them examine your abdomen. Only he can tell if you are getting too much compression.
Check with your surgeon. Sometimes as the tummy swells after surgery it will cause the tape to pull much more than when it was initially placed. This can be easily adjusted by your doctor.
I highly suggest you call your plastic surgeon and have this evaluated. Good luck and thank you for your question.
Thank you very much for your question. No, what you are experiencing is not normal. I would contact your surgeon urgently and discuss the issue. Best of luck!
Hi Debbie. Swelling that appears when you return to full activity is pretty normal. Persistent swelling and pressure and pain in the lower abdomen should be brought to the attention of your plastic surgeon. Perhaps rest and another week off will help. Best wishes always, Dr. ALDO
Thank you for asking about your tummy tuck.I am sorry you are having muscle pain this long after surgery. The usual cause is returning to exercise before your muscle repair is ready -This can set off muscle spasm.I suggest you contact your plastic surgeon and either arrange to be seen to discuss...
I would speak to your surgeon regarding your concerns. Otherwise you can get a second opinion from another board certified plastic surgeon. Regards,
