I call hyaluronic acid fillers, chapstick in a syringe. yes, these fillers hold water and tend to help the lips stay hydrated just like they plump the skin. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question. Juvederm placed into the lips will not affect the surface appearance of hydration of the skin. Care must be taken during injections, however, if your lips are chapped so as to not cause any small splits in the lip.
Juvederm injections in the lips do no affect the external hydration. The HA injections affect the internal moisture content of the lips as the HA holds onto moisture in the tissue. Externally you would still need to moisturize as usual.Juvederm is a great choice for lip enhancement as is Restylane.
Juvederm will not affect surface hydration of the lips. If your lips are dry, I suggest increasing your water intake and moisturizing the lips regularly. Your dermatologist may be able to advise you the best way to get chapped lips under control during your Juvederm consultation.
These HA fillers are hydrophilic but this effect is within the soft tissue matrix of the lips, not on the surface mucosa.BestDr Karamanoukian
Unfortunately the hydration of lips is not affected withJuvederm injections. The filler isinjected into the lips which attracts moisture inside. The outer lip area will still need to behydrated as usual.
Hydration is not related to your juvederm injections. Your lips can be chapped for a few days after injections due to stretching of the skin and they can crack and be chapped, but otherwise its your skins hydration or how much you moisturize .
The injections of Juvederm do not correlate with dryness. Hydration depends on the quality of your lips and whether or not that are moisturized. Best, Dr. Green
It sounds like you might have been anxious during the injections and that's why you reacted the way you did. Often patients who get injected and don't eat before or are anxious can have this effect. I would definitely get the symptoms checked out by an internist to make sure there is nothing e...
It would be very helpful if you could post before and after photos to see the changes that were made from the injections. I would wait two weeks to see if there is still swelling from the injections. If you are unhappy you can let the product dissolve since you only had one syringe or have V...
It appears from your photo that you have lumps in the bottom lip that looks asymmetrical. If the lump does not resolve within two weeks you may need to have this dissolved. I would wait two weeks and then I would consult your treating physician for examination. Best, Dr. Green
