Thank you for your question and photo. It is possible to redefine your dorsal hump while keeping your nose’s tip intact. Nasal rasps can be used to file the hump down safely while preserving the rest of your nose structure. You may want to request imaging morphing to determine how your nose’s appearance may change overall once the dorsal hump is reduced. It’s important to mention that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your aesthetic goals and determine the best treatment plan for you.
Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photo you have a strong hump on your bridge. Your surgeon can be fix the hump and leave the tip as you wish. If you can provide photos with better lighting, from the front of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!
Everyone has ligaments that extend from the bottom of the nasal bridge to the nasal tip. If you just have surgery to remove a dorsal hump without addressing your nasal tip, these supporting ligaments may be disrupted and lead to a droopier nasal tip appearance. Please consult with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists who offer computer Imaging so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. I hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Based on the photo, you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. Yes, the bump can be taken down while leaving the tip the same. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation that will do computer imaging at the same time to show you how it can look.
Yes this can be done. Keep in mind that any change on one part of the nose can change the appearance of the other parts as the relationship of the parts are very important for a good cosmetic result. For example, reducing the dorsum can give the appearance of the tip rotating upwards in relationship to what it looked like before the dorsum was reduced. I recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over the nuances of your question and guide you to the best operative approach for you.
That could certainly be done in your case. However I think your tip could use some refinement and you would get the best result by doing a complete rhinoplasty
A small nasal bump can be shaved off without effecting the tip. The overall nasal appearance improves and the tip remains unchanged. However, sometimes the upper half of the nose can appear narrow after hump removal and relatively speaking the tip might appear larger than before. RegardsDr.J
Hello,The short answer is yes. You can have a surgical rhinoplasty procedure to remove the hump on the bridge of your nose. The other option is to have filler injection into your nose to soften the appearance of the dorsal hump.It is better to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who have an experience with these treatment options and discuss with him the pros and cons of each.
Dorsal hump and nasal tip: Theoretically, it is always possible to remove a dorsal hub and leave the tip untouched. However, while the tip may look good now with your larger bridge, reducing the hump and narrowing the bridge may make your current tip look too large for the smaller upper portion of the nose. So it is rare therefore that the tip can be left alone while the bridge of the nose is reduced.
Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an in person examination (not just an online consultation) and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique.Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do and how technically to do it based on limited photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACSLa Jolla, California
