Botox only affects the muscles, not the follicles or the hair itself. If you are noticing hair loss, it could be from quite a number of different factors. Best to see your dermatologist, find out what’s causing it and how to improve it. I hope this helps.
I know of no association between Botox and hair loss — or hair growth, for that matter. In my 30+years of practice, I’ve never heard of any patient complaining about hair loss after Botox. Probably the association you noticed was coincidental. If you are bothered by the hair loss and the hair does not grow back on its own, please consult a board-certified dermatologist who can examine your hair and recommend remedies to help you regrow it.
Botox is not associated with hair loss. I recommend an evaluation with a hair restoration specialist to help determine the cause of your hair loss. Best of Luck
In my experience, I have not come across any association between Botox and hair loss. Thank you for your question.
No, Botox should not cause hair loss. Hair loss can be caused by many different causes, often it is related to hormones as in male pattern baldness or stress as in Telogen effluvium. Botox works at the neuromuscular junction. Botox is injected into the muscle over areas of interest to reduce muscle movement and the overlying wrinkles. Hair follicles are more superficial than the muscle, residing in the subcutaneous fat between the skin and muscle. Not everyone is a good candidate for this treatment so please see a Board Certified or Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon to evaluate if you may benefit. Good luck! Botox goes straight into the muscle — far below the follicles in the skin. It will not cause your hair to fall out. If you are losing your hair, a board-certified dermatologist will be able to help determine the cause and offer solutions, such as minoxidil.
Hello and thank you for your question, there is currently no evidence of hair loss associated with Botox® treatment, I strongly advise you see your original practitioner as there may be a number of other contributing factors.Best wishes,Mr Golchin
There is no evidence of hair loss associated with Botox treatment. Interestingly, an opposite effect has been postulated Leading to an ongoing study to determine whether Botulinum toxin could assist in hair restoration.
Thanks for your question. I see patients for all sorts of hair loss issues, but never have I seen a case that was caused by Botox. Best of luck to you.
I have never heard of Botox and hair loss association. If you are experiencing hair loss after a Botox treatment, it is likely coincidental.
