Hi I had botox almost 3 weeks ago and went to a reputable doctor.since having it I find it much harder to cry and almost numbed down.also I hate the heavy/ironed out feeling in my forehead.i had forehead, glabella and crows feet done.i don't have any crows feet but she said it was best to treat the 3 areas in tandem.my glabella isn't much better.my forehead lines are softer but I feel like it's a huge effort to lift my eyebrows.when can I hope to find the effect wearing off?
Answer: Botox and forehead heaviness Thank you for your question. The effects of Botox can last up to 3-4 months. Muscle movement can begin to return sooner. The "heaviness" that you feel is a common complaint from many patients and this is one of the reasons that I place much less Botox in the forehead region. I prefer to get a lift from the forehead muscles by placing Botox in the glabella region and tail of the eyebrow (orbicularis muscle). The only reason to treat the crows feet area is if there are dynamic wrinkles. Depending on the number of units that you received in the glabella area, you might want to have some additional units placed here in order to weaken these depressor muscles and allow the weakened forehead muscles provide more lift to your eyebrows. Otherwise, you will have to wait a few weeks before the Botox wears off. Good luck

Answer: Heavy Forehead Post Botox Thank you for sharing your concerns about your recent Botox experience. It is completely normal to experience a "heavy" sensation after Botox injections to the forehead, especially if this was your first treatment. If you are noticing that your forehead also appears heavy, you should follow up with your injector to share your concerns. In the future, a lighter dose of Botox to the forehead will prevent this sensation from happening. In the meantime, you may notice this sensation for several more weeks before it resolves. On average, Botox lasts between 3-4 months, at which time the procedure can be repeated. Best of luck, Dr. Kian.

Answer: Botox / Xeomin / Dysport -- side effects, heavy forehead, excessive eye brow lifting or spock brow, ptosis or drooping eyelids Sounds like you have a heavy forehead from dosing that is alittle high from the toxin. This takes 2-3 months to wear off but usualy is better by 3-6 weeks. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Heavy forehead after Botox, when will this resolve? It can take up to 3 months for the forehead heaviness to resolve. It appears that too much was used in the forehead. I try to keep movement in the forehead which is a more difficult injection. Some people aren't candidates for forehead injections because they have heavy brows to start with. The frontalis muscle is the only lifter of the brows and that is what is injected in the forehead. Occasionally, I will inject a small amount in patients with already heavy brows in the central forehead and higher than usual.

Answer: Heavy forehead This typically wears off over the next several weeks. It's important that you go back to your reputable injector, and allow them to see in a short term interval what your sensation of heaviness refers to. typically your injector may need to adjust the number of neurotoxins use in the future if this is extremely bothersome to you. in the future there may have to be a compromise for the numbers of units used in your forehead in order to avoid this sensation.
