I had liposuction 8 months ago, and my right thigh looks like it has a wave in it? I really do not want to have another surgery, are there any non-surgical alternatives available that might help?
Answer: Thigh Liposuction Irregularities--Exilis Ultra, Venus Legacy, Cellutone/Zwave, Vanquish, VASER revision, ThermiRF For non-invasive options, I recommend vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. However the best way to improve irregularities to the thighs is with a VASER HI DEF revision with ThermiRF and fat grafting. This will give you the best, most toned result for areas like the thighs. Answer: Inner thigh liposuction The inner thigh area is very susceptible to contour irregularities with liposuction. Because of the likelihood of these irregularities it's an area that is hard to treat vigorously with liposuction. I would recommend aggressive massage to the area. You may have some scar tissue that may respond to the massage. I have patients use a foam roller or even a rolling pin. If the waviness doesn't resolve, you may need some touch-up liposuction as well as fat grafting to smooth out the appearance. Best of luck!

Answer: Thermi Tight may help Hello and thank you for your question. Contour deformities after liposuction are difficult to alleviate; however, of the non-surgical therapies, Thermi tight may help you. It uses radiofrequency to heat up the tissue, promote collagen formation and tightening of the tissue. The great benefit of thermitight is that it can be done in the office under local anesthesia and is very comfortable. I hope this helps and good luck!Sincerely,Dr. Sean Kelishadi

Answer: Non invasive modalities? Thank you for your question. Some slight contour deformities can occur after liposuction - it depends on how you heal and how your tissues retract. With that being said, the most definitive way to treat this is with some light fat grafting to the area. This can be performed usually under local - meaning that you do not have to go to sleep for it. Some fat is removed from a different area and then placed in the area with the ripple. Other non-invasive modalities you may want to consider would be a non-invasive lipolysis laser (like CoolSculpting or SculpSure) over the most prominent ripple, to help smooth this area out. Best of luck!

Answer: Bad outcomes from inner thigh liposuction I have said this many times before and unfortunately I will probably say it many times again. Inner thigh liposuction is technically difficult in the area is prone to uneven contours and indentations. Bad outcomes from liposuction can be corrected either by revision liposuction in which more fat is removed from areas in order to create a more even contour, fat transfer for fat is harvested from another area in grafted into the areas that are thin or a combination of both. Correction of poorly performed liposuction is difficult and at times not possible if too much fat was removed. Unfortunately that transfer is limited unless there is some layer of fat to graft into. In other words in order for fat transfer to work there has to be a substantial to shoot a graft into. Simply injecting a large amount of fat in a small space will lead to all the fat being lost over overtime. Revision liposuction may be an excellent option. I would not rely on a non-surgical techniques. Techniques like cool sculpting are very nonselective and can lead to barge in then Tatian's. Cool sculpting relies on a certain size suction cup and the fat will be removed at the same level according to the size of the applicator. This does not help areas that are uneven. Well done revision liposuction by someone who is a true expert is probably your best option. I typically perform all liposuction and fat transfer procedures keeping my patients awake using a local anesthesia and emancipation. And inner thigh revision should not be difficult for you though unfortunately you will have to pay for the procedure if you choose to see a doctor other than who did your first procedure. Most plastic surgeons do not charge for revision surgery but you may have hesitations letting the Doctor Who did not give you a great outcome do more liposuction. If not done correctly the situation could be made worse. I suggest you consult with multiple board-certified plastic surgeon's who have extensive experience in liposuction. Based on your pictures at least a partial correction should be possible with revision liposuction plus or minus the addition of fat transfer. There are plenty of talented board-certified plastic surgeon's in Southern California. Finding one who has true expertise can be a little bit like finding a needle in a haystack. There are a few board-certified plastic surgeon's who, like myself focus exclusively on body contouring using liposuction. Still there's plenty of talent and I'm certain there are several very talented board-certified plastic surgeon's in Southern California who can help you with your problem. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
