Thank you for your question. No. A good diet plan is the way to go. Consult with a Registered Dietician and develop a meal plan. I hope this helps!
I am not aware that IBS can be treated with Botox. You need to consult with a Gastroenterologist and check what can help you with the IBS, some patients may have an unknown intolerance to many ingredients in several foods (like fructose), and that will make harder to control the IBS.
is that you won't be able to frown when you're in the bathroom...at the present time there is no interaction between the two...interesting the current concept from Australia relates IBS to a high FODMAP diet...look on the web and see if possibly altering your diet to one containing low FODMAP items might be helpful...there's another concept that IBS may be related to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth but that idea seems to be waning...good luck
I do not know of any uses of Botox for IBS or chronic diarrhea. Please consult with your primary physician if you are having those issues. Best wishes.
The potentially closest use of Botox to what you describe is the treatment for anal stenosis with conservative Botox injections. This procedure can lead to fecal incontinence and is rarely performed.I know of no treatment for IBS using BotoxBest of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
