Since Botox is a muscle relaxer, it might work to relax the muscles around your mouth. See someone in your area who is an expert injector and is experienced in treating around the mouth as this is an area that if over treated can lead to problems.
Botox injections can help to transiently (ie. for 3-4 months) reduce the strength of muscles around the lips. You need to choose the injector very carefully! Too much Botox or improperly placed injections can lead to months of inability to enunciate (speak) clearly or whistle or suck on a straw or give you an uneven look of your lips when you smile. Choose an experienced PHYSICIAN injector, so if anything is not "just right" you can more easily get it corrected than allowing a non-physician injector to be involved. The area around the lips (perioral) are trickier to inject than the forehead, frown lines, or crow's feet.As someone who has many years of experience injecting Botox, I have seen great work around the lips...and I have seen disasters! The disasters are almost always the consequence of inexperienced injectors.Debbie Kessler Hudak, MD
When I look at the photo you sent, I don't see activity of the muscles around the mouth (called orbicularis oris).I would suggest you see a physician in person to discuss the concern you have. It may have to do with the lips themselves. The two dimensional photo has its limitations!!Hope that helps.Dr Johnson
Thank you for your question. I don’t see any problem doing acupuncture 2-3 weeks apart from Botox. I would recommend informing your providers that you do Botox and facial acupuncture. I hope this helps!
Thank you for your question. I would not worry too much if you had Botox and found out you were pregnant. Botox works locally where it was injected and the dosing is very small. The makers of Botox would never consider sponsoring a study to see the safety of Botox during pregnancy or breast...
This is often referred to as a "Spock brow". It can happen, but it can be fixed pretty easily by an expert injector. A tiny amount of Botox near the upper outer edges of the brows will help counter what's happening. Either revisit your injector for an exam or make an appointment with another...
