Thank you for your question. I don’t see any problem doing acupuncture 2-3 weeks apart from Botox. I would recommend informing your providers that you do Botox and facial acupuncture. I hope this helps!
Acupuncture hasn't been found to interact negatively with Botox. Just make sure to wait until you've recovered from Botox before getting the acupuncture. 2 weeks is a good timeframe, but you may want to wait 3 just in case.
Botox and acupuncture do not conflict. They are complementary, according to our acupuncturist, Zhongmin Mao, L.Ac.
I would avoid any facial accupuncture for 2 weeks after botox injections. Otherwise it should be safe to have done. Best, Dr. Emer.
I would say you can do both. Botox is observed quickly after theinjections and the onset is maximized in 7 to 10 days. There have been no studies that lookspecifically at facial acupuncture and Botox. However since Botox is observed quickly there should be no reason forface acupuncture cause a problem after 48 hours. It probably could be done even sooner but Iwould recommend being cautious simply because this is not an area that's beenwell studied and wait for acupuncture 48 hours after your Botox treatment.
You can do both to the face, but you should space at least 2 weeks between the procedures! In both procedures, needles are going down into muscles, and since the target tissue is common to both, you do not want to do something where one procedure could affect the results of the other. I would recommend doing the Botox 2 weeks (or more) before the acupuncture. If the muscles are relaxed, there will be less pain associated with the placement of needles during the acupuncture.Hope that is helpful to you! If you want it explained another way, please let me know.Debbie Kessler Hudak, MD
As long as you space out the facial acupuncture several weeks from the timing of your Botox injections, you should not have any problems having both treatments.
Yes, you can do both of these treatments. The Botox will be well absorbed and in effect at 2-3 weeks out, so it's fine to do your facial acupuncture then as you have planned. Thank you for your question. I would not worry too much if you had Botox and found out you were pregnant. Botox works locally where it was injected and the dosing is very small. The makers of Botox would never consider sponsoring a study to see the safety of Botox during pregnancy or breast...
This is often referred to as a "Spock brow". It can happen, but it can be fixed pretty easily by an expert injector. A tiny amount of Botox near the upper outer edges of the brows will help counter what's happening. Either revisit your injector for an exam or make an appointment with another...
Thank you for your question. I would recommend not doing Botox treatment if you're trying to get pregnant. I hope this helps!
