Hi, I’m freaking out as they appear too big. I’m 5’8 and Broad shoulders so my PS surgeon advise me on this look and said it would look natural. I’m just trying to determine if these are still swollen and can go down still?? I still wake up in so much pain each morning but not sure if that’s also because of the compression bra I’m wearing days and night. Any help appreciated, really feel like I’ve done the wrong thing? X
Answer: Don’t worry!! Hi— I think it’s natural to feel like the implants are “big” or “swollen” immediately after your surgery. Keep in mind they will sit high for a month (or two, sometimes longer). As they settle, it will look and feel more natural. I assume that you discussed this as your goal size prior to surgery? If so, I would allow things to heal and rest assured, it will likely be all right...

Answer: Swelling YES. Congratulations on your new breasts!. Everybody swells. It's the normal reaction to surgery and it will get better. Don't judge your size right now, but speak with your plastic surgeon about what to expect. Since everyone heals differently, it will be up to your surgeon to examine you and tell you which part is implant and which is swelling in the tissue.

Answer: 5 day post-op swelling Thank you for your question and congratulations on your recent! You're still very early in the healing process and should expect some swelling at this time. It's best to follow up with your surgeon regarding their preferences on post-op garments but your breasts are still healing and will need sometime to settle into place. Good luck and congratulations again!

Answer: Post Op Concerns - Appearance of Breasts Hi Bro1sacaz, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the early stages of the healing process at 5 days post op. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position. But if you are still concerned, you can always visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. This way, you will be reassured. Also, if after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of revision surgery. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Breast augmentation Hello and thank you for the question. It would be best to see some photos before giving any advice. Generally speaking, early after breast augmentation, implants tend to sit high on the chest wall, which make the breasts look unnatural. Over the course of next several weeks, implants drop to their final location behind the breast tissue. As they do, breasts will round up and the nipple-areola complexes will rotate upward. At the beginning, it's not uncommon for one implant to be at a different level compared to the other one. I would be more patient. Your final results can take up to 3 months to show. You should also see your surgeon to make sure there is nothing else going on. Best, Pejman Aflaki, M.D. Johns Hopkins-trained plastic surgeon
