About 30 hours post op and I’m not sure what to expect. My breasts appear so far apart and they are very hard. I’m 5’3 and 135 pounds And I got 385cc implants. My boobs are so stiff and seem so far apart, there isn’t even that much cleavage. Do you think it will change or move closer soon?!im nervous my surgeon told me not to massage them... Advice please
Answer: Breast augmentation and cleavage Hello and thank you for the question. You are still early in the healing process. Over the course of next several weeks, implant drop and maintain their position behind the breast tissue, giving them a more natural look and softer feel. Your implants look just fine this far out. In terms of cleavage, breast augmentation may not give you the cleavage you are looking for. The kind of cleavage that you will get with breast augmentation depends on your existing anatomy and how close your breasts footplate is before the surgery. So, if one's breasts are wide apart, they are not going to have a close cleavage with breast augmentation. It's best that you discuss your specific concerns with your surgeon. Answer: Post Op - Appearance of Breast, Healing and Recovery Hi ninaja555, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the early stages of the healing process at 1 day post op. You will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position. Also, your breasts can drop at different rates. But if you are still concerned, you can always visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. This way, you will be reassured. Also, if after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of revision surgery. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Wideset Breasts After BA Thank you very much for your question and photographs. Congratulations on your recent breast augmentation, as well. It is extremely common for the breasts to be widely set immediately following a breast augmentation procedure. Over the next several weeks, as the breast pockets expand and the implants settle, you will see your chest appearance dramatically improve. Remember, however, that a breast augmentation procedure cannot change cleavage, as the distance between your breasts will remain the same even after surgery. Continue to be patient as you recover from your breast augmentation. If you have any further questions, contact your operating surgeon

Answer: Breasts Far Apart Thank you for your question. The placement of your implant is correlated to your anatomy and is placed behind the nipple. If your breasts were far apart on your chest wall before surgery, they will be the same after surgery. However, when the breasts are bigger, this may become more noticeable. Breast augmentation changes the size of the breast but does not necessarily create cleavage. I recommend consulting with your plastic surgeon about your concerns.Kamran Azad MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Breast position Your breasts are far apart post op because they were far apart pre op. Breast augmentation just makes your natural breast larger. However, your soreness and stiffness will get better as the tissue relax and swelling goes away. Good luck.
