I am scheduled for upper and lower blepharoplasty on 11.05. did my research for 5 years now, scheduled and unscheduled several times , finally feel that ready to proceed, and saw Renee Zellweger's transformation, please please tell me if eye lid surgery can so drastically change the look, all i am looking for is more youthful appearance i am 45 years old dropping eyelids and under eye bags make me look older and sad all the time..

Answer: It does not have to be this way. Please read my blog about Renee Zellweger. However, an unexpected blepharoplasty result is all too common. Surgeons think a number of things. The number one thing that they usually do not think is that the way they do your blepharoplasty is causing a problem. The number one culprit is over excision of skin from the upper eyelid fold. The surgeon's job is not to see how much skin can be removed to the point you have trouble closing the eyes. The task is structure not tissue removal. The same is true for the lower eyelids. Renee Zellweger had her beautiful upper eyelid folds removed. Of course in those after photos, she has had ridiculous botox and filler services. To understand what is possible with eyelid surgery, do not my website photo gallery under eyelid surgery can look at eyelid surgery patient 1 and patient 3. Both of these individuals had what I call a microblepharoplasty. Very little eyelid skin is removed. Surgery is all about structure. Study your surgeon's website and decide for yourself if this is the type of surgery you are getting or if you are more likely to get Renee Zellweger's surgery.
