It appears that a body lift would provide the best results, but I am concerned that my butt would go flat getting the body lift. If I get the tummy tuck, I may can save the butt from going flat. Decisions decisions. I am confident my doctor is advising me correctly. Secondly, I feel like my butt is so heavy that it will pop the stitches or pull and separate from incision. I have thick heavy skin. Anyone worked with patience with this type of skin?
Answer: Belt lipectomy you would be a good candidate for a belt lipectomy. If done correctly it will enhance the appearance of your buttocks.

Answer: Lower body lift 360 circumferential lower body lift belt lipectomy massive weight loss extended tummy tuck Dear Yalie8, Thank you for your question about the benefits of a tummy tuck versus a 360 circumferential lower body lift, especially in relation to your concerns about buttock contouring. Tummy Tuck vs. 360 Circumferential Lower Body Lift: Both procedures include a tummy tuck, addressing the abdominal area. The key difference is that the 360 circumferential lower body lift also involves the back and buttocks. Buttock Concerns: Don't worry about the thickness of your skin or popping stitches; thicker skin on the back and buttocks is typical. Consider your goals for buttock surgery: Is it to reduce wrinkles, change volume, or improve proportion? Options for Buttock Contouring: Volume Reduction: Extending the incision from the tummy tuck over the buttocks can remove excess skin and fat for a smaller buttock size. Lifting and Wrinkle Reduction: If you're looking to lift the skin and reduce wrinkles without changing the volume, the lower body lift can achieve this by lifting the skin alone. Augmentation (Making Buttocks Bigger): Propeller Flap: Rotates fat from the upper buttock to augment the area. Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL): Utilizes fat harvested from your abdomen (during the tummy tuck) to augment the buttocks. This procedure can lift and increase the size of the buttocks. Decision Making: Decide whether you want your buttocks to be bigger, smaller, or just lifted. For augmentation: Consider a BBL or propeller flap. For reduction: A 360 circumferential lower body lift with skin and fat removal. For lifting only: A 360 lower body lift focusing on skin excision. In conclusion, your choice between a tummy tuck and a 360 circumferential lower body lift will depend on your specific goals for buttock contouring. Consulting with a plastic surgeon experienced in these procedures will help clarify the best option for your needs. Wishing you the best as you make this important decision. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Belt lipectomy or tummy tuck? In your case, a beltectomy is not going to give you a much better result than a well-performed abdominoplasty, but you would have a longer scar. I don't think you will 'pop the stitches'. If you want enhancement of the buttocks, this should be done first and then the abdominoplasty can be done at a later time.

Answer: Tummy tuck vs body lift The body lift is designed for patients who have a lot of loose skin in the buttock and lateral thighs. I think most of your trouble could be corrected with a tummy tuck. You could also have some liposuction and possibly transfer that fat to your buttock if you would like to firm it up a bit without the big posterior incision. Good luck.
