I am not sure I have enough superlatives in my vocabulary to adequately praise Dr. Tierney and his incredible staff. My experience with Tierney Plastic Surgery has been outstanding. I could not be more pleased with the results. What is remarkable is how Dr. Tierney and his staff made this experience so seamless, easy—and so unbelievably comfortable. From John at the front desk to the wonderful nurses, to the uber competent, kind, and patient Dr. Tierney himself, Tierney Plastic Surgery is unparalleled in their kindness, sensitivity, responsiveness, and compassion. I genuinely felt like each step of this journey was of the utmost importance to Dr. Tierney and his staff and I always felt like I received the absolute best personalized care. From answering questions to delivering absolutely beautiful results, Tierney Plastic Surgery exceeded my expectations a thousand times over. I recommend them wholly, fully—and without reservation.
Dr. Tierney did a fantastic job. I initially had a lot of concerns about the procedure and the fact that there was little communication from his office between the consultation and the day of surgery, but at the end of the day I got the results I wanted. I am only two weeks post op but they look very natural and not too small or boxy as I've seen with other results. He also accepted my insurance so my out-of-pocket expense was minimal. My only regret is not finding him sooner!
I Had a bodylift on November 1 the surgery was performed by doctor Teireny. Overall the surgery went well had two drainage tubes one removed 2 weeks post the other 3 weeks post. Now at 3 weeks still alot of swelling so it's hard to see my results . I was told just be patient and wear my garment and results will come.
Dr Tierney is an excellent Dr. Very knowledgeable and up to date with the latest PS news and spends as much time as you need with him. His office staff are wonderful. I live in another state now, but when I decide its time to freshen up I would gladly travel to see him again. I just hope he doesnt retire by the time I need work done!!
I want to start by thanking all the ladies who posted their journeys on RS. I felt so prepared prior to going in for surgery. I am a fiercely private person, but because of that, I am going to pay it forward and post my journey in case it helps someone. I had a TT & breast reduction on 11/16/20. I am 9 days post opt and doing great! Dr. Brian Tierney did an amazing job...my husband tells me that he removed 5lbs of breast tissue between both breast and an additional 2lbs of skin. Now I see why my neck and upper back were hurting so much. I am beyond ecstatic with what I see so far and can't wait to see the final outcome. I think my back story is similar to everyone else's--back & neck pain due to large breast, loose skin and a misshapen stomach from 2 c-sections. My primary care MD recommended Dr. Tierney...I went in for a consultation in September met him and his staff and scheduled my surgery the next day. He had all the credentials (board certified, member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons) a calm demeanor, made me feel like he understood the problem I was trying to fix, and answered all of my questions. As a matter of fact I had to schedule another consultation, so that my husband could meet him and get his questions answered. He answered all his questions with the same calm demeanor. I went in last Mon completely terrified telling myself it wasn't too late to back out. Fortunately my neck and upper back were both incredibly painful that morning which reminded me why I was doing this. Also between the staff at St. Thomas Surgical Center in Nashville, TN and Dr. Brian Tierney--my PS, by the time I went in for surgery I was completely calm. The anesthesiologist told me that she was giving me something to take the edge off, they wheeled me into the OR, and the next thing I know my husband was helping me get dressed to go home.
I had reconstruction done in 2009 after a prophylactic mastectomy. I could not have asked for a better outcome. As a matter of fact, when you first look at me if you dod know that I had reconstructive surgery you would never know by looking at me, yes he dis that good of a job! The surgery went great and I am more than pleased with the outcome. Dr.Tierney and his staff are wonderful. I have and always will highly recommend him!
After much consideration and multiple consultations with different doctors, I decided it was time to make a decision. I'm not getting younger. BEST DECISION I've made in a long time. I work out very hard and after having my daughter and losing the pregnancy weight I gain, my breasts dropped significantly. Bathing suit shopping was dreadful, not anymore. The doctor and his crew were amazing - extremely professional.
Recently had a breast reduction. Staff was very sweet and Dr. Tierney was amazing! Had to have emergency surgery 24° later due to complications, he was on top of things providing the best care needed
Found breast cancer was quite shocking to me. Grasping the knowledge of cancer itself, different treatment plans, and various choices of doctors were all very stressful. Dr. Tierney and his staff (nurse Britney especially) were extremely patient on guiding me throughout the entire process. They are very professional, skillful, friendly, caring, and made everything so easy for me. The results after surgery was fabulous, I was so happy that I chose Dr. Tierney as my breast surgeon. I have no hesitation on recommending such an awesome doctor to any ladies who wants the best.
I can't say enough great things about Dr. Tierney! He is an extremely skilled surgeon and a wonderful person. The first time I met with him (to discuss breast reconstruction following a nipple-sparing double mastectomy) I was impressed by his knowledge and his warm, caring nature. He took the time to explain the procedure to me, discuss my implant options, and answer all of my questions. He did an amazing job on my breast reconstruction. The process wasn't easy but he and his staff made a very difficult situation much more bearable. Even though my final surgery was almost three years ago I can still hardly believe my eyes when I look in the mirror. There are no visible scars and my implants look very natural. In fact, I sent pictures of my reconstructed breasts to a friend who was scheduled for a double mastectomy with reconstruction and she took them to her plastic surgeon! She wanted the exact implants Dr. Tierney gave me. I will always be grateful for all that Dr. Tierney has done for me. I would recommend him without reservation to any woman who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is considering breast reconstruction. Updated on 20 May 2016: Three days before my 42nd birthday I was diagnosed with stage 1a tubular breast cancer. After considering my treatment options (which thankfully didn't involve chemotherapy) I chose a nipple-sparing double mastectomy with reconstruction. I chose this option for many reasons: my children were only 5 and 8 at the time and I wanted to do all I could to not only survive but hopefully avoid a recurrence; I didn't want to undergo radiation and would have needed it if I had chosen lumpectomy; I wanted to avoid taking Tamoxifen; I wanted to avoid a lifetime of mammograms and all of the radiation that results from them; and finally, this option gave me the most peace of mind. I understood that double mastectomy and lumpectomy with radiation were about equal in terms of preventing a recurrence but I felt much better opting for the double mastectomy. The process was not definitely not easy but I had two fantastic surgeons who did an amazing job. I didn't have any complications and am thrilled with my results. My final surgery was almost three years ago and I am thriving. I have never regretted my decision.
Deciding upon a tummy tuck alone versus a belt lipectomy is very common. It would be helpful to see a picture of your back. If there is extra skin and fat that continues around the side and back then a belt lipectomy would be best. A belt lipectomy will also raise the buttocks and give you a better shape.
The order of procedures in a mommy makeover may be different for each surgeon. I would do the breast procedures before the tummy tuck. The reason why is during the breast surgery you will be placed in a sitting position to check for symmetry. If The tummy tuck surgery was done first it is not advisable to lie flat and then sit up into a regular sitting position. The Liposuction portion would be done during the time of the tummy tuck operation. Thanks Brian Tierney, MD
You are correct in that the right implant is bottoming out. You basically have a inftamamary fold on the right side that is lower than the left. This can be corrected by revision surgery. I would recommend discussing your concerns with your plastic surgeon.
Personally I do not use staples to close arm left surgeries. It is not necessarily wrong to use Staples. Staples do tend to leave track marks after they are removed. And you are right they can be a lot more uncomfortable.
Good question. Inspira implants are made by Allergan. Mentor makes the moderate plus implants. In general the inspira moderate implants(SRM) will have more projection per base width compared to the Mentors. In other words, you get more projection with a smaller base width with the Inspira implants. There may also be the benefit of less wrinkling with the Inspira implants. Thank YouBrian Tierney MD
