Would a sliding genioplasty & chin liposuction fix weak & double chin? (Photo)

You’ll need to make sure your plastic surgeon is board certified and experienced in this procedure so that she/he chooses the right fit for you. In order to further define your jawline, a small amount of liposuction to the neck would be a great options. I appreciate you, including your picture and in my opinion sliding genioplasty would be an excellent choice to enhance your profile. I don't think you would need submental vital suction in addition. Of course, a consultation would be necessary to make sure that you do not have any other concerns that need to be discussed such as your jaw position, that would also influence your profile.. In my 20 years plus of experience with genioplasty. It is a procedure that has had a significant positive impact in my patients lives.

You may potentially be a jaw surgery candidate but that is a much larger surgery and we would need more information. If you are just looking for cosmetic procedures, you could definitely benefit from a genioplasty. Bringing your chin forward and slightly down would create definition and bring balance to your profile. A genioplasty will also elongate your jawline, creating more contour. You may consider jawline or submental lipo as well, although the genioplasty may fix that issue by itself. Another procedure to consider would be buccal fat removal. This would reduce some of the fullness in your lower cheeks, creating a little more contour as well. The photo shows that you gave a recessed chin. An augmentation procedure such as a sliding genioplasty or chin implant would improve the lower facial balance. Jawline and submental liposuction would also help provide a well defined jawline.

Based on your picture, the projection your chin needs for a balanced profile, can be achieved as well with a chin implant. Chin implants have remarkable results and faster recovery times, and if you are concerned about the outcome, in the worst scenario you do not like it, it can be easily removed. Simultaneously, under chin and jawline liposuction can be done. The use of computer simulations can give you a close idea about surgical results and help with your decision.

In your situation, instead of having a sliding genioplasty, you could get a small chin, implant placed plus use liposuction in renuvion to contour out your neck region. This would take approximately one hour of surgery, outpatient and full recovery and as little as five days.

A sliding genioplasty is performed by an oral surgeon under general anesthesia in a hospital setting with an overnight stay, and is much more invasive. Placement of a chin implant and neck liposuction can both be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.

Do you look like a very good candidate for a sliding genioplasty. Your mandible seems to have sufficient vertical height in the Chan region, but is lacking forward projection. Surgeons can alter the procedure in both a vertical and horizontal direction depending on what’s needed. The amount of advancement can also be predetermined. I suggest consulting with plastic surgeons who have experience doing sliding genioplasty‘s as well as oral surgeons. Don specialties after this procedure though, it seems to be done more frequently by oral surgeons in my experience.
