Im a 28-year-old man. Six months ago, I had a 7 mm horizontal sliding genioplasty. The surgeon did a great job, but I preferred the way my face looked before the surgery, so hes going to move my chin back to its original position. However, Im worried that if my chin is moved back by 7 mm, the skin on my face and under my chin will become looser or more saggy than it was before the genioplasty. Should I be concerned about this?
Hi, for reference I am a 26 y/o male and have a short, round face. I want a vertical genioplasty advancement of 810mm to balance my face aesthetics better. I hired someone to edit pictures of what my face might look like after a vertical genioplasty. Can these edits translate to realistic, surgical results? What do you think the approximate size (mm) of the vertical advancement is in these edits?
Hello, I am planning on getting a sliding genioplasty surgery done, but I have read several studies online noting a millimeter or two of bone resorption after the procedure. How and where does this resorption happen? And can it be prevented or minimized with a good diet?
I have quite moderate-severe overjet and lip incompetence, with a weak chin. I explored the option of braces but came to know from my orthodontist that they will require extractions, which I am wary of as I have heard they can ruin faces. I can't close my lips at rest and I have a chipmunk like appearance from front with a puffy face. I have put genioplasty on the table as an option but I am not sure if it will fix my problems. What'd be the best course of action for me? 18M
I have a recessed chin and think I want a sliding genioplasty but have a couple questions; 1. My bite is normal but I do have a slight overbite (class 1) and a 2mm overjet. Would it look odd if I did not correct this first? 2. I have not gotten an xray yet so Im not sure, but I plan on getting a 10+ mm advancement. How bad would recovery be for this? How long would it take for most swelling and bruising to go away? 3. The main reason I dont want a chin implant is because I care about my front profile as well as my side profile and generally before/afters I have seen look better with sliding genioplasties. Is there an actual aesthetic difference between these two surgeries? Or am I just seeing bad examples?
I don't have the eye to tell what exactly is making my side profile unappealing, I might just be unattractive period but it bothers me especially from the side is it the large forehead? the nose?(had 2 rhinoplasties) is it the chin? the angle/curve of the jaw? I don't know, please tell me with no filter, if its my bone structure that is simply unattractive and can't be fixed with surgery I would appreciate if it was bluntly pointed out.
I have a witches chin. I was thinking of simply putting filler in the mental crease but theres just so much soft tissue I dont think that would solve my issue. When I press on the bone it doesnt protrude excessively its mainly that soft tissue. Is a procedure like that doable?
