Ive attached an X-Ray of my jaw and teeth. Ive already had a consult regarding Genioplasty where I was told they could cut a big chunk of the chin, reshape it and reposition it into a better position. I see my chin and feel it would be a good idea to go for it, however I dont know if it will give me the result Im looking for, in some cases Ive seen Genioplasty to be underwhelming. And what Im looking for is to improve my jawline and reduce the bottom third which is protruding. I am also looking into jaw surgery as it could be a better solution but is much more agresive and would prefer Genioplasty + maybe chin and jaw implants, but, if Jaw Surgery would really make that much of difference I think Id go for it. Thanks for reading and taking the time to answer.
Hello, I am planning on getting a sliding genioplasty surgery done, but I have read several studies online noting a millimeter or two of bone resorption after the procedure. How and where does this resorption happen? And can it be prevented or minimized with a good diet?
Hi, for reference I am a 26 y/o male and have a short, round face. I want a vertical genioplasty advancement of 810mm to balance my face aesthetics better. I hired someone to edit pictures of what my face might look like after a vertical genioplasty. Can these edits translate to realistic, surgical results? What do you think the approximate size (mm) of the vertical advancement is in these edits?
Hi there, I know my facial symmetry is poor, but I don't know what exactly would improve it. My jaw is very small following from my ear to my mid face, at that point there is a bump and the rest is very round. My chin has a ton of fatty tissue but is also pronounced bone underneath. Im assuming if I reduce the size of my chin & jaw I will eventually need a nose job too. Im ready to begin consultations now & have the operation this year.
I want to make my chin longer, pointier and maybe move it forward just a little bit (ok if not ), so I can achieve a more v-shaped face like in the last picture where I have fillers. I am debating between a sliding genioplasty and an implant. however I'm a little worried about implant shifting as I know someone to who it happened and they had to have it removed. What procedure would help me achieve the best result like in the last picture?
I would like to change the size/shape of my chin. Currently it's a little too small and square with a bit of a butt chin and it's slightly recessed. I would like to have a longer pointy chin, so I can have more of a heart shaped face (like in the last picture where I have fillers).I am leaning towards genioplasty but I'm not sure if it will allow me to reshape the chin to a pointier shape. And if I simply move it forward and down it will probably look even more masculine. I don't know if a chin implant will help with the vertical size or pointiness and I'm also concerned about implant shifting. I know someone who had to have theirs removed because of that. I also heard of Vline surgery, but not sure if it can make my chin vertically bigger. Ideally I would also like to increase my chin's horizontal projection, but I can live without it. So which procedure or combination of procedures could help me achieve the desired effect?
The genioplasty of 5mm forward gave me an oblong/oval and long face shape and an ugly deep mentolabial fold , which I'm really unhappy about. I would like a reversal but I'm scared of the skin laxity or fullness it can give you from what I've heard online. I don't think I would like to get another genioplasty,. I wonder if it's possible to shave the bone down and place a chin implant on top. I would be so happy if I could get more proyection since I think the augmentation I had was somewhat modest, it just eneded adding length to my face and changing the shape. . Is shaving down the bone and replacing the genioplasty with an implant something possible ? Would it be something as invasive and with a long recovery as my genioplasty?
