Ive been wanting a sliding genioplasty for a pretty long time to help improve my profile and get rid of my double chin from certain angles/looking down. Ive seen a big complaint from patients that the genioplasty changes their smile or makes their chin too big. Would this be a concern if I received one?
Hi, for reference I am a 26 y/o male and have a short, round face. I want a vertical genioplasty advancement of 810mm to balance my face aesthetics better. I hired someone to edit pictures of what my face might look like after a vertical genioplasty. Can these edits translate to realistic, surgical results? What do you think the approximate size (mm) of the vertical advancement is in these edits?
Chin tight, ball look to it. Is it worth going back to my same surgeon? when I brought this up to him during a month follow up appointment he said Botox would help the hyperactive mentalis muscle. If I needed a revision with the risks like lip-numbness, smile, reopening gumincision outweigh the revision? Will this get better with time or is a revision needed?
Hello, I am looking for options to make my chin more symmetrical because my right side is noticeably longer and bigger than the left when I smile and it is also obvious when I am talking. My chin looks huge and makes my face look disproportionate. Im afraid of getting filler for the smaller side because I dont want my chin to look even bigger and witch like - my lower face is too long as is. I tried to speak with a surgeon a year ago and even went to get chin X-rays and sent them off, but the receptionist called me and said there isnt enough bone so there was nothing that could be done and told me good luck. It feels like soft tissue when I pinch it, but Im not sure if fat or muscle. Im also not sure what kind of surgeon I need or who to go to.
Im scheduled for a BSSO for jaw advancement (My orthodontist has already given me the lower teeth 5mm setback needed for the BSSO.) However, when I mimic the result by pushing my jaw forward, my chin still looks flat/curvilinear to me. Something still feels 'missing' in the produced jaw look.Im worried BSSO alone wont give enough definition, and Id like to know if adding a small genioplasty to bsso would be better results. If yes, would I need only horizontal or horizontal plus small vertical genioplasty ? How do I ensure it looks natural and not witchy?
Im a 28-year-old man. Six months ago, I had a 7 mm horizontal sliding genioplasty. The surgeon did a great job, but I preferred the way my face looked before the surgery, so hes going to move my chin back to its original position. However, Im worried that if my chin is moved back by 7 mm, the skin on my face and under my chin will become looser or more saggy than it was before the genioplasty. Should I be concerned about this?
Hello, I am planning on getting a sliding genioplasty surgery done, but I have read several studies online noting a millimeter or two of bone resorption after the procedure. How and where does this resorption happen? And can it be prevented or minimized with a good diet?
