In the early post procedure period, some donor site discomfort is not uncommon. Stinging discomfort should subside within the first 7-10 days.I would encourage you to contact your board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS) with experience in hair restoration to discuss your concerns (especially if discomfort persist or worsens).

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.Needle sensation is not normal.  Please follow up with your doctor.

The sensations you describe are normal and should subside within a few months.  For now, I wouldn't worry to much about the donor site unless this doesn't improve in the next 6 weeks.

This type of pain is normal up to the first two weeks post-op. It should be going down soon, and in the meantime over the counter ibuprofen is helpful in managing the donor pain.

First off, what you are experiencing is totally normal. I know its not fun but it will get better with time. Generally for itching you can use a simple saline spray. Neograft via HairMedica sells a CopperK Calming Spray. Not even sure if it is still available to be honest. Perhaps ask your Neograft doctor if he or she has any. Hope that helps!

Actually, it is not uncommon at all to have early discomfort after any FUE procedure in the donor area in the back of your scalp. This is because of your  hairs in the donor area beginning to grow, and they are like little needles sticking you in the back of the scalp when you lay your head back on a pillow or chair.
As the donor site heals and the donor site hair gets longer, this discomfort will subside and go away completely.
Congratulations on your getting a NeoGraft. My patients are elated with the results. You will begin to see significant hair density at 5 to 6 months. Often at six months, it is quite impressive although full growth of all of the grafts takes about 18 months.

Hi and thank you for sharing your concerns. Discomfort in the donor site can present in various forms. You are still within the time frame of acute healing, so I would utilize the pain medication provided (or any substitute recommended for use by your doctor) and apply chilled saline sprays or copper peptide calming spray (if provided to you) to the donor area as well as polysporin ointment or aquaphor to keep the area from drying out. Using a travel pillow to keep the back of the head elevated may also help relieve some of the discomfort. The sensations you are feeling at the donor site are entirely normal.  These sensations will pass.  What can help is spraying the area with cool water from time to time.  I would suspect that these sensations will subside over the next 7-10 days, and certainly be in touch with your operating surgeon as well.
