Had minifacelift 3 months ago with bad results. One side of face is flatter, lower, and earache on that side with pulling in front of ear with jaw pain. Seems to be less fat and skin on that side. Smile also slanted down on that side as is my ear. Other side is much fuller and ear is higher. Dr will not take any responsiblility and I will not be going back to him. Would I have to go thru another complete mini lift or just some minor correction. The mini lift also addressed the SMAS
Answer: What to Expect Following Your Facelift Your healing process in general can take up to one month for the majority of swelling to subside, incisions to close, sutures to come out, and for bruising to completely go away. #Recovery time from a #facelift varies from person to person, but patients can generally expect to be presentable within three weeks from surgery. Patients should expect swelling, bruising, and discoloration of the skin during this phase of recovery (swelling normally goes down after 48 hours; most bruising will go away within two weeks). When the skin is separated from the underlying tissues during surgery, small sensory #nerves are cut. Varying degrees of numbness will be present after surgery and will improve gradually as the nerves reconnect to the skin. This process can take from 2-6 months for face, neck and cheeks, and to 9-12 months for the forehead and scalp. Muscle weakness may also be present around the mouth especially if liposuction is used. This typically recovers fully in the months after surgery. As the nerves regenerate, the itching, burning, tingling and shooting #sensations will occur. Ice, moisturizers and gentle #massaging are helpful during this phase of the #healing process. Frequently there is a tight feeling in the neck, jawline and cheek after a facelift. During surgery, not only the skin but the underlying muscles are tightened to create a better and longer lasting result. Additionally, the #swelling will move downward in the first week and the neck will feel even tighter. Do not be alarmed: the sensation will decrease during the first month. Some degree of firmness or lumpiness under the skin is normal after surgery and will resolve with time. Local #massage of the areas may accelerate the resolution of this problem, which normally takes 2-4 months to disappear completely. The marks from a facelift can easily hidden with “camouflage” make-up which you can learn how to apply. The scars from a facelift mature within six to twelve months from the surgery date. It is during this time that the rejuvenating effects of the facelift will become apparent and the real result will be seen. If you have certain concerns about the procedures and #healing process, it is recommended to call your board-certified surgeon or their medical staff and discuss those #concerns.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Mini Lift Redo? 3 months is a too soon to tell to judge your mini lift results. It is possible that you may have some uneven swelling at this time. Depending on the nature of your surgery, it can take up to 6 months to see the final result. I would give it some time and see how the healing progresses. If you are unhappy at 6 months after surgery, you can begin the process of considering another surgery, but I would wait at least 1 year after your initial surgery before undergoing an additional procedure. Thank you and good luck with your recovery!

Answer: Mini facelift I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with your physician. That relationship that you established before your procedure is key in tailoring your results, and it may be worth another visit with him or her just to find that initial relationship that you had. From a purely logistical standpoint, reoperation on a mini left needs to wait some time. At the earliest would be around six months, but it would likely be best to wait until about a year. If you can have the same surgeon do the correction that is best, but of course that depends on the situation. To ensure you are receiving the highest level of care, seek out a dermatologic surgeon, oculoplastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who is board certified and fellowship trained in one of these "core four" cosmetic specialties.

Answer: Mini Lift Asymmetry after a mini lift can many times improve with time. Have you seen much improvement in the past three months? If not, a revision of the tightening of the SMAS tissues may be necessary to correct this issue.
