After having my son (and gaining a whopping 75lbs) I knew I needed a tummy tuck immediately (especially since I knew I didn't want anymore children). After working out everyday for 2years straight and loosing all my pregnancy weight I decided that now was the time. During the summer I scheduled a litany of consultations (about 6 to be exact), & was overwhelmed with all the information presented before me. Each and every consultation was filled the "same old" boring video and promise of getting you looking back like your "old self". After awhile everything became "cookie cutter-ish" & very routine!!! After going on my 5th consultation (and what I was sure to be my last because I had no intention of going on the final one, after all what would be the difference??), my husband suggested I Just go to see if this consultation would be different (to which my immediate response was "how many times can they re-invent this wheel"???). What would be "different" about this consultation?? I have heard it all (or so I thought). I figured, I might as well just save myself the trouble and choose from one of the 5 I had I already consulted with, but boy was I wrong!!!!!! I thank God that I listened to my husband!!! My consultation with Dr. Shureih took over 2hrs!!! I know it sounds like a lot of time but he really took the time to consult with me on a personal level so this experience did not feel "cookie cutter-ish" at all. He actually took his time (no video or CD), just my husband, the Dr. And myself (going over every possible scenario)!!! He took the time to measure my entire body and take my weight!! This man is very hands on an very precise!!! I was taken aback!!! This was the best experience I had ever had with a doctor!!! He answered every question and had realistic answers for each one!!!! Every plastic surgeon (up until him) quoted Liposuction in my price. Nothing out of the ordinary for a tummy tuck (very standard), but as I stated before, I had been working out EVERYDAY for the past 2years before I got my surgery so I did not need any lipo!!!! He was the ONLY doctor to tell me that (that just goes to show you how unattentive and very routine the others were)!!! Not one of them noticed that underneath all that saggy skin, there were abs and no fat!!! Just loose skin!!! He also informed me that not only did I not need Liposuction, but that I did not have not one ounce of fat on me ???? (as I stated earlier he measured me from top to bottom and used the old school caliper gun used to measure body fat)!!! It was then I knew that he would definitely be my doctor!!! From then on not only was I anxious but I was also very motivated to save the money and have the procedure done!!!! Needless to say the procedure was a success!!!! A year later I decided to get my breast done (as I stated earlier I worked out so much that my breast literally withered away!!!) and of course it was a no brainier that Dr. Shureih would be doing that surgery too after all there was no other doctor that I would let near me with a scalpel!!!! Believe me when I say if you are in the DMV area he is definitely the doctor to call!!!!! Thanks Dr. Shureih
I had my procedure done in conjuction with hernia removal surgery. Dr. Shureih was absoutely wonderful in making sure I understood everything that was going to happen with my surgery before and after, and my results speak for itself. I love the new me and I will definatey be using him for any future procedures that I may have. I trust him completly. Updated on 12 Sep 2015: Updated on 13 Nov 2015: I'm excited and frustrated at the same time. I'm finally ready and scheduled for the lipo/breast reduction (part 2). Its been 7 months since the first one (Abdominalplasty/Pinnuculectomy) with 3 hernias removed. Which is why I had to have a part 2. December 11th is the big day I can prayerfully say good riddens to these heavy 40 DDD'S. Insurance is covering the BR and no pre approval was required. Thanks Blue Cross Blue Shield. I'm excited...nervous...and frustrated. Frustrated because I was told that my PS had issues with the lipo machine before at this particular hospital. This is the only hospital he does surgery in outside of his facility. Hopefully we can be sure if it's working properly or has been upgraded prior to my surgery but otherwise he wouldn't know until the day of. I completely trust Dr. Shureih and believe he will do all he can to give me the absolute best results possible but this worries me. Also I think I've gained about 10 lbs since my last surgery and would really like to lose it prior to but don't wanna risk losing any breast so that he can have all or more than he needs for the insurance requirements. I know... it's a lot right. I'm just praying and putting it all in God's hands and I'm gonna fast and pray some more. Please say a prayer for me guys. I will keep you all posted. Yayyy. I'm getting the second surgery yall. Updated on 22 Nov 2015: My surgery is scheduled for December 11 and I just got a call because the lipo machine at the hospital where I'm having the BR/lipo isn't working. Now I don't know what to do. Do I just reschedule for a later date or just get the BR. And get the lipo another time in life. The lipo to me was the reason for the whole thing though. I added the BR so that my insurance could cover the hospital fees and stuff. I'm so upset. I don't when their machine will be fixed or what to do. Updated on 24 Mar 2016: So after having to cancel my surgery in December...I've finally rescheduled it with another doctor for April 14th. One day prior to a year to the day of my last surgery. Anyway I'm really excited after reading some of the post on here. You guys are wonderful. I question my decision everyday but I don't want to scare myself too much. I want to be overly exited and happy with the outcome. I honestly can't wait the more I look in the mirror. Please keep me in yall prayers that all goes well. I'm ready to have smaller boobs and hopefully I will be getting lipo at the same time. I will post some before pics if I don't forget. Stay tuned. Updated on 24 Mar 2016: Has anyone ever had Tumescent Lipo where you're awake while getting the procedure? If so can you share your experience. I'm in research mode on this subject. Updated on 4 Apr 2016: So its getting really close to my surgery date and yes I'm very nervous but so excited at the same time. I'm NERVCITED....LOL. Decided to post some pre op pics because some say they don't think I need this surgery but I disagree. What do you guys think? I'm sure my back will feel better and I will be totally happy with a smaller me period. It's all I think about. Updated on 13 Apr 2016: I'm NERVCITED (nervous and excited) about tomorrow. Wish I knew what to do to calm myslef right now. I know it's gonna be painful...I just pray my wounds don't open up like when I had my penniculectomy last year. Please pray for me. Updated on 13 Apr 2016: Markings were done today. It's getting real and I'm super excited. Updated on 14 Apr 2016: I made to the lighter side yall. Surgery went well. Spending the night in the hospital for observation per my insurance. The drugs are awesome so no complaints. I feel a little sore but that's it. Hopefully it won't get worse. What a blessing. Prayer works. Trusting in God for guidance works. Thank you Lord for all you've brought me through. Gn yall. Gonna try to get some rest. Ta Ta for now. Updated on 21 Apr 2016: One week post op and the drains are out. Yay me. I have a blister or two on my right boob that needs to heal but otherwise I'm good. LORD KNOWS I DONT NEED ANOTHER OPEN WOUND ESPECIALLY ON MY BREAST. Size wise I'm still swollen but I'm hoping not too much because they are small enough and I don't want to be any smaller. I still don't know the size I am or will end up being though. He said he took like 700 from one side and about 600 on the other and still could have taken more. I was like uhmmmm where. Lol. I'm nervous guys because I really wanted this to elevate my back pain and to be able to wear my cute bras again but honestly I probably could have achieved this with strict diet and exercise. That would have taken forever though. With that being said I really don't regret my decision and I'm just praying the size I am now is what it's gonna be. I will post pics soon. Updated on 23 Apr 2016: Excuse the blister on my right boob. Other than that I think I'm doing well. And I plan to have more side boob removed via cool sculpting if I'm unable to lose it with diet and exercise. Updated on 28 Apr 2016: I'm done with surgeries. Although my drs were great and my results end up being awesome. I'm really pissed that with my stomach surgery last year my wounds opened up in both sides 2 weeks PO and took weeks to heal...now this. This blister or burn on my right breast...it's healing but whyyyyyy does something like this have to happen. Darnit....and it's so ugly. Updated on 15 Jun 2016: Well after the last pic...once the doctor pulled the skin off this shows what I've been dealing with. I even have to wear a Wound vac everyday which is frustrating because the surgeon said I didn't need it but once he sent me to wound care that doctor said it was either a hyperbaric chamber for a month (which was out of the question because I'm extremely clostrophobic) or the wound vac. Anyway here's what I'm dealing with which is much better than it looks actually. Updated on 15 Jun 2016: At least I can fit this cute bra my boyfriend bought me Christmas before last. Yay me Updated on 17 Jun 2016: In getting there although in sick and tired of this wound vac Updated on 28 Jun 2016: I wish this wound just close already Updated on 10 Aug 2016: And just like that I am healed in a Jesus name Amen. Updated on 10 Aug 2016: Ugly scar but I'm happy it's healed up Updated on 31 Mar 2019: It's been 4 years since my Abdominal Surgery and 3 years since my Breast Reduction Surgery. 4 and 3 equals 7 which is the number for Completion. I am finally having my final Surgery of Completion to finish and correct something from my 2 previous surgeries. I wasnt able to get lipo with the first abdominal surgery because of hernias I had to have removed and I need scar revision from my breast surgery. So in 2 weeks on April 15 I will be doing both. Please keep me in your prayers and I will keep you guys updated on everything. Praying that if God brings me to it he will bring me through it. I'm excited and nervous of course but I'm sure it will be fine. Praying for zero complications and complete satisfaction with my results. I'm going to post some before pics soon. Updated on 12 Apr 2019: More before pics..I was so bloated from my cycle in the last update been trying to delete them but it wibt delete. I have gained a few lbs since my surgery in 2015 and my stomach dropped some too but prayerfully that's all about to go away. Pray for me yall. I'm so excited. Updated on 15 Apr 2019: So today I had my third a final surgery. 4 years later I finally had the lipo I've always wanted and scar revision on my breast. But let me tell yall this surgery is more painful than the first 2 combined. Omg I've been in so much pain all day. The pain meds help but not completely. I keep having to pee and that's annoying because it feels like everything drops when I get up. My fiance has bee a God send yet again. I ate some soup, crackers and apple sauce because I was hungry. Been drinking ginger ale and tea. My throat is really sore from the breathing tube and my lips are chap and sure but idk why. Ok I have to pee again so I will be updating you guys tomorrow. No matter how much pain I'm in I'm just happy for it to be over and to have made it through. Praises unto God
Dr. Shureih is a very skilled plastic surgeon. He explained the procedures in detail. He his very caring and easy to talk to. He has a great bedside manner. He does not pressure you to have the procedure. I have had a face lift , thigh lift, and tummy tuck and I am very pleased with the results. Dr. Shureih and his staff are the best. I will not go anywhere else.
I CANNOT believe a legitimate doctor would state that Fraxil is "Junk medicine". Both my husband and I have done fraxil treatments. We went to a laser specialist (dermatology center in Scottsdale) that specializes in Fraxil and laser procedures. Our results, 3 months later have been amazing. The dark spots on my hands are gone after 2 treatments. My husbands cheek wrinkles are much improved. It works. Results are subtle, but definite. Check your resources and go to a qualified specialist. Lots of procedures on the market are indeed "junk medicine"… but not Fraxil. Do your homework, go to a pro ONLY and ignore the quacks. And if a plastic surgeon makes statements associated with PROVEN laser treatments not working, it might be because they would prefer you get "cut" and have face lifts and eye tucks immediately. We are in our upper 40's and have no interest in redesigning our faces. Plastic surgeons are losing a lot of business with the new laser options out there. (by the way - Thermage might fall into the "junk medicine" heading. I have tried it twice with zero results.) Please be careful out there. Pick a referred medical doctor only. It's worth the extra money.
Dissapointing. Do not pay for a consultation. Check Healthgrades. Results do not look natural. Go to an office that does not charge for a consultation. It is not worth it. Look at pictures and reviews.
I went to Dr Shureih since he was recomended by a dear friend. Originally I had put my deposit down with Dr Rosenberg. What a BIG mistake not only gave me BIG implants that i didnt ask for i ended up getting a double bubble which he didnt want take responsibilty. He kept saying it will be ok. After a couple of months he did agree it was a double bubble and said i would need a FULL anchor lift to fix it. So i agreeded to it and when i asked him how much he would charge me he quoted me the FULL breast lift price. Not even a minor discount SMH and mind you his prices are MUCH higher than other docs in town. I ended up going to Dr A. Hakei to fix it.This is the reason ppl travel out of state for surgeries docs like you charge TRIPLE the price and dont even stand behind your work! I really regret not sticking with DR Rosenberg!
I had a chin implant for over 20 years. Needless to say I loved it! When i had my jowling removed I was misinformed and told to also replace the chin implant. I did and hated the new results. I have tried another replacement 8 months later....with same bad results. Three months ago had chin implant removed all together. It looks just as bad without chin implant and have an extended chin that drops a little. Will this swelling and or scar tissue go away since these two implants were all handled within one year? My old implant was a gel implant that was strategically placed higher up on the chin than what plastic surgeons current do today in the text book version, lower on the chin line. Challenged, may go back to Dr. who originally talked me into replacing it and insist he put old gel exactly where it was originally. Will he be able to see the pocket where the original was placed for over 20 years?? Truly worried on what to do at this stage. For now, allowing more time for the tissue to heal. Thanks for any additional advise. This have been a very difficult journey!
Hello All, Just wanted to write a quick note to start recording my experiences. I'm 33 and recently lost 100 POUNDS. I've been thinking of this for quite some time (the TT and BBL) and Im finally transitioning from stalking this site to taking action. I'll be doing some consultations later this week in LA with the following Drs: Dr Hughes Dr Bruno Dr Dass Dr J and one other Dr I probably wont go with but using as a test run. In December I'll be doing some consults with some Baltimore area doctors since I'm visiting family. I live in the midwest (Ohio) and I haven't found a doctor whose results are worth doing a consult. I'll keep you posted thru the selection process and post surgery (if possible). I'm looking to get the surgery done in Dec 2014. Seems like a long time out but I am a project manager by trade - so I'll use my work experience and treat this as my own little "project" FOR ME :) Updated on 9 Nov 2013: Hello Ladies, Needless to say my first round of consult was enlightening. Think of it as having a series of blind dates. You'll get some crazies and [RS bleep] and somewhere in there you will find a prince. I saw a variety of surgeons with different specialties. Since I lost 100 pounds there will be no BBL for me simply because I dont have enough fat - which is okay with me. I'll be doing surgery in 2 phases - one will be a lower body lift and the second a butt implant. Dr. Bruno - nice guy cold but beautiful office. I didn't feel he had enough experience in the lower body lift. "Dr. S" I will call him. Really arrogant offering me things I didn't want. He specializes in weight lost patient plastic surgery. Dr Hughes - I met him right after surgery. I know he is hard working but didn't really know what was on his scrubs. Didn't like the coordinator Heidi - she seemed too used car salesmanly for me and didn't provide any specifics. Dr Dass - Love him, the office and Leslie. He has a perfect blend of experiences and I asked some questions that the other docters glossed over. HE actually told me the really reallys. Liked the fact he trained in Kansas City where the Lockwood lower body procedure was invented. I will probably go with Dr. Dass in LA however I do have some consults in the Baltimore area and then decide around Christmas. Updated on 20 Dec 2013: Hello Ladies, I know I've been MIA but wanted to followup on the second round of consults with: Dr Joseph Micheal Dr Douglas Foreman Dr Shurieh I have to say that I was way more impresses with these doctors than the ones in LA. They spent way more time with me (but waiting for the docter took longer). They are all awesome as well as their staff. Dr Joseph Foreman has a fellowship in body conturing after weight loss (which is rare to find). This visit with him seemed like I was talking to a friend about the weight loss process itself versus the procedures. He has a small solo practice and really educates you on the rationale of the techniques vs just the results. Dr Douglas Foreman has a Ivy league education but a golden heart. He really cared about me and how I would fare in the aftercare strategy. Dr Shureih is a very detailed person. I spent 3 hours with him and 1 hour was just looking at my body!! We spent the next 2 hours going in details the procedures that could give me the desired results and the risks associated with each. He is well established and respected and is doing some cutting edge stuff - especially with the booty!! One of his procedures for butt augumentation is a fat dermis - inserting the fat and skin from a tummy tuck into the buttucks versus a implant. He is the only docter in the US doing this. So I have great hopes for 2014!! Im really leaning towards Dr Shureih right now. I've decided to think it over over Christmas. I do know one thing though - Im not going to LA for this procedure. Updated on 29 Dec 2013: I know, I know - I plan on getting this surgery late Aug/Sept 2014 but I wanted to get a jump on estimates for a caregiver after surgery. I found some sites where caregivers post jobs and wanted to share in case others ave the same need. These are nation wide: 1. www.sittercity.com -> this site has some CNA for 1200-1500 a month. Thats a awesome price to have someone assist with meals, cleaning, errands and whatnot 2. http://www.caringly.com/ -> another site that doesn't offer monthly rates but they have do have daily rates 3. http://www.seniorcarecompass.com/ -> even though this is for seniors they also have CNAs. You have to register to see the details and I'd rather wait a while to do so I'll probably start contacting people late June or early July. Does anymore have any guidance on what to ask when I start scheduling interviews? Right now I'm focusing on quitting smoking and saving money. I already have cash on hand for my deposit but wanted to pay for my accommodations and schedule my surgery after I haven't had a cigarette for 2 months (late feb/ early march). I plan on staying for 2 months since I can work anywhere with internet access. I figure I should be ok on my own after 3 weeks to a month. Updated on 3 Jan 2014: So yesterday I went without any cigs with no problem. It was easier than I expected but that may be due to still being off for the holidays (ie no stress) and I also have bronchitis :( I am using the nicotine gum to ease off my bad habit and hopefully can be off that in around 2 months. In the meantime Im writing down a list of questions to email Dr Shureih. As a positive reinforcement to kick the habit I have 2 benchmarks for myself: 1. Wont sent the email of questions out until one week of not smoking cigs 2. Wont sent in my deposit for surgery until I haven't smoked in 2 months (late Feb/early March) Updated on 20 May 2014: Hello peeps... I haven't been got with the posting because it just hasn't seemed real. I cant say that anymore though. I have my surgery date now so its time to get back active on this site to ensure I am preparing. Updated on 19 Oct 2014: I've been lurking on this site and i am down to 11 days for my surgery. Im just focusing on finishing up work and packing up for my trip to Baltimore. Im scared as all get out but i hope everything goes okay. Just got my lab work done and everything is okay from a health standpoint. I'll keep you posted...
Dr. S merely gave me sound advice based on a photo. I appreciate that he took the time to do this in the manner that he did.
There is no such thing as minimally invasive rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is a challenging surgery and a thread lift is not the answer. Rhinoplasty require an extensive consultation with the patient, understand the patient's goals and desires. What can be achieved and what cannot be achieved. An expert surgeon and suitability for the surgery
The consultation time is an opportunity for the doctor to decide whether will take this case or not. Also the time of the consultation is an opportunity for the patient to evaluate the Doctor, the professionalism, quality of the consultation and evaluation and presenting the options and plan of surgery. Pre-op and post_op instruction, and the follow-up after the surgery . Who will do the follow-up surgeon or Assistant. That is how I would chose my surgeon, and have done that when my family needed a highly specialized surgeon.
The "big crease" you see under the eye in the lower lid is caused by a part of the orbicularis occuli muscle (pre-septal portion of the muscle) contracting as you smile. Choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon as your injector as they understand the different portion of the muscle and their function.
It is not very common to NOT have any effect from different Neuromodulators. Make sure the injector is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, not an assistant and not just any injector. The neurotoxin is fresh and not expired and Mixed and prepared fresh. After analysis of the area needing neuromodulator and the muscles involved then can inject the involved muscles. (this can vary from person to person). Your pictures show very pronounced etched lines that will continue to be prominent. May need a combination of fillers and neuromodulator.
Based on the pictures posted, I believe you are very attractive, with attractive facial features and facial harmony. You do not need any surgical procedure. You state you have "bad Body Dysmorphia" . Before you decide on any surgery, you may consider a Psychiatrist care to help with body dysmorphia.
