Would Liposuction without Tummy Tuck work for me? Stretch marks (Photo)

Question

Hello, I had a baby about 10 months ago and would like to get Lipo to get rid of my mamma belly (Dieting and excersize only got me so far), but I have some stretch marks. I want more kids and don’t want to get a Tummt Tuck before i’m completelt done, but the excess fat on my tummy has been wearing on my confidence. The skin itself is plump, no looseness. Do you think Lipo would give me good results? I just want better contours and a slimmer appearance

Ideal candidates for liposuction are at or near their ideal weight and have good skin elasticity. Liposuction is not a weigh loss procedure and will not remove the stretch marks. You will see a change in inches rather than in pounds. Most plastic surgeons look for a BMI close to 30 to ensure maximum results and to decrease the risks of complications during and after surgery. Discuss a weight loss and exercise program with your PCP or a trainer who can help you determine the best path for you to reach a healthy BMI.

Usually after pregnancy, weight gain, and childbirth, there will be muscle laxity and excess skin. Hard to tell with no exam, but lipo would do more to slim your hips and waist and perhaps take a bit of your tummy. A good exam is needed to make the right diagnosis, and that of course determines your best treatment !

There is no doubt that liposuction would improve your abdominal contour but it will not do anything for your striae. Abdominoplasty (TT) on the other hand would eliminate some of the striae in the loser abdomen. It is very hard to claim that there is currently available treatment for striae that is predictable. Liposuction would remove excess subcutaneous fat which is the fat you can pinch.  It can help to sculpt your curves while you wait until you're ready for a tummy tuck.  The stretch marks will remain after liposuction but will be addressed with the tummy tuck.

Thank you for your question and photo. Since you have minimal excess skin, but do have excess fat, a liposuction would work very well for you. It will not help with your stretch marks, as I'm sure you know.

The addition of a Renuvion treatment at the same time would tighten the skin considerably, giving you a flatter abdomen. In addition, your waist could be narrowed with this combination.
So, my suggestion is liposuction with Renuvion, which you can find on the Internet. These both can be done under local anesthesia if this is your preference, and the recovery time is a few days.

Thank you for your question. Liposuction would reduce the amount of excess tissue in the central abdomen and flanks, giving you a slimmer appearance. However , this will no change the appearance of the stretch marks. Also, often after pregnancy, the recti muscles in the central part of the abdomen can become redundant and require tightening. Excision of the stretch marks and tightening of the muscles can only be done with a tummy tuck. Liposuction can be used at the same time as the tummy tuck to improve your silhouette. Ideally, one would need to examine you before formulating the appropriate treatment plan that would best address your goals.
