the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after). You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring. Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty). Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. Pre-op weight loss is preferred to post-op weight loss to retain the results of the liposuction. Having a BMI close to 30 will minimize the risks of complications during and after surgery and maximize results.
Hello. Liposuction is always better done with a weight closer to normal and stable. Not a weight loss or weight control surgery. For safety and better results, try to be way under 30 BMI, CLOSER TO 25. Once achieved your goal, keep the healthy lifestyle habits.Best regards
Hello, thanks for your question. Remember that Liposuction is not a losing weight procedure. You must be near to your optimal weight before going to the operating room. Your BMI must be under 130. It depends on factors like your height or age, among others. Consult a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area for a physical exam.
It is always a good idea to be at your optimal weight prior to undertaking body contouring surgery. Additionally, the degree to which Lipo would be required would likely be reduced, along with the duration and cost of the procedure.
The textbook answer seems to be that Liposuction is not appropriate for weight loss and is intended to simply contour peoples bodies. That said, the majority of patients who get liposuction are overweight. To some degree Shelby patients who are slightly overweight get more impressive results than thin patients because there’s more fat to remove.Likewise, if some people are successful at weight loss they no longer become candidates or need Liposuction. At certain extremes Liposuction becomes completely inappropriate either because the patient has a little fat it doesn’t make sense to try to remove it or there’s so much fat the liposuction becomes ineffective in comparison with weight loss.My experience has been the patients looking to have their torso reduced in size can get maximum benefit huang around 160 pounds with an average height of 5 foot four.Patients were over 180 pounds afternoon need more than one session of Liposuction. Unless only working on a select small area these people need more than 5 L of fat to be removed to get ideal results. clearly these patients would do better losing some of that weight on their own first. Above 220 pounds most patients need more than two sessions of liposuction and this procedure simply becomes inappropriate. These are just my thoughts and my general parameters. There are individual differences that play a significant role in the decision to offer someone surgery or not.The answer to your question is that it is always best to lose weight on your own through diet and exercise and be as fit as possible in life and before being assessed for cosmetic surgery. it’s also important to have a proper assessment done to see if you’re a good candidate for Liposuction in the first place.Variables that make people less or candidates for this procedure include primarily skin laxity, pregnancy related changes including muscle separation and excess visceral fat.Regardless of your weight you can always have a few consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons to see what their thoughts are.In the end what matters most is the opinion of the surgeon you choose to do the procedure if that’s how things work out.Best, Mats Hagstrom MDLinea Nova Body Contouring
Generally in patients with a reasonable BMI (under 30) I prefer patients to be at their normal weight prior to liposuction and not lose a lot of weight before the procedure. Remember liposuction is not a weight loss procedure it is a contouring procedure. It's better to diet after liposuction to enhance your result rather than to crash diet before and then gain the weight back after liposuction which will not help your result.
The banana roll is a skinfold that forms in a standing position. If you lean over slightly you’ll see that they go away. The skin on the upper back of your thigh is Todd when you’re leaning forward with your hips fully flexed. It is contracted or folded up in a standing position just like you...
Fibroids usually refer to benign tumors of the uterus, which is located deep in the pelvis. Liposuction is a procedure to remove the fat external to the muscle and bone enclosing the abdominal cavity and pelvis. Therefore, fibroids will have no effect on liposuction.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is no substitute for a Tummy Tuck. As great as jplasma/renuvion and other energy devices like BodyTite, ThermTight and laser lipo are they don't give you the same result. For optimal results most plastic surgeons use them as an adjunct to power...
