I had a lolipop lift on one breast and will be going for a revision to downsize. Can a donut lift be performed on that breast?

Thank you for your question regarding whether a donut mastopexy can be performed on your breasts. The short answer is yes, it can. The breast lift that is required determines your physical examination. Since you did not provide pictures, it is a difficult question to answer. However, in general, a donut mastopexy is done to decrease the areola's size, elevate the areola complex's position, and help achieve symmetry compared to the other side. If these factors bother you, you should consider a donut mastopexy.

Yes, if just the areola is to be smaller, the scarring can be kept around the areola only in most cases. Your surgeon can discuss this with you.

my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity.
