I have had a breast lift w/o implants almost 6 months ago. The right breast was a little bigger before the procedure. Now, after the excess skin was removed, the right is fuller. Plus half of it is still numb after the lift. Should i have a revision to adjust the fullness? Should I not?

Answer: Breast Lift Revision Thank you for your question regarding whether I should have a breast lift revision. The question is totally up to you. It is not mandatory, but if it bothers you, I suggest you proceed with surgery. Since it does not impact your activities of daily living or function, you do not mandatorily have to have this procedure. However, if it bothers you, I suggest you have the correction done sooner instead of later. As we age, the risks of other medical comorbidities increases. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, I would proceed to establish a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. If you have any more questions regarding the breast lift or mastopexy, capsular contracture, or breast implants in general, please contact my office. Since your breast surgery is somewhat complex for an average plastic surgeon, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing these types of breast lifts. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 breast lifts. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Good luck! Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Revision surgery Dear temelena, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.
