I'm scheduled for injections next week to help with tmj pain and migraines. I was planning to have Botox but now I'm curious if Dysport can have similar results to alleviate pain.

Answer: Dysport for migraines and tmj Thank you for your question. Yes Dysport can be used for migraines and TMJ but it is not FDA approved. The only product FDA approved for those issues is Botox. I would recommend seeing your physician that will be treating you for this and follow their recommendations. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Dysport for TMJ and Migraines Thank you for your question! Yes, Dysport can be used for TMJ pain and migraines. Although Botox is the only neurotoxin with FDA approval at this time, both neurotoxins will yield the same result. The injection points are in the masseter muscles for TMJ and temporalis muscles for migraines. It is extremely important to receive treatment from a highly experienced injector to avoid complications such as facial asymmetry. Best of luck, Dr. Kian
