Will the excess skin go away after Dysport injection for 11s?

The truth is all toxins (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin ) only last 3-4 months. Your wrinkles and muscle movement will go back to its original baseline. These treatments will not leave laxity to your skin or any permanent side effects. The effects are more or less noticeable depending on the amount of units placed. Dysport works by affecting the ability of the injected muscle to contract. The result is a softening of the wrinkles of the injected area. The treatment should not cause puffiness, especially nearly 6 months after injection. I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation.

It is unusual to have a wrinkle relaxer cause excess skin, however, it could have caused some heaviness, which will go away once the product has worn off. Sometimes when smoother you may notice loose skin you did not notice before or loss of the muscle pump can cause puffiness. Also, you can get upward spread and some forehead heaviness from the tail of procerus being affected which should go.

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin lock the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin essentially paralyze the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from these treatments are visible within 3-7 days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months. Being that it has been 5 months since your injections it is unlikely that you still have results from Dysport. Follow up with your injector with any questions or concerns you may have. I am curious about your description of puffiness and excess skin 5.5 months following glabellar area treatment with Dysport neuromodulator.  The time interval and return of muscle motion suggests that the active drug has mostly dissipated, although I would expect your 11 lines to begin to reappear soon.  Quality, effective treatment means regular re-treatment, preferably before the drug has worn off completely.   We do not generally expect Dysport or BotoxCosmetic to produce excess skin or lasting puffiness.  This situation would be best handled by in-person re-evaluation by your board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist.  Schedule another visit for evaluation and possible re-treatment.
